The differences within our species such as skin color, facial and hair characteristics and social practices are what we call "races".

Arguing about religion is one of the most wasteful, nonproductive and even destructive things humans practice. Spiritual beliefs should be a very personal thing that should not be imposed on anyone else, even your own children. If you ask me what I believe I will tell you, but I'm not the least interested in your beliefs, and when people try to profess that they know the truth and must hit you over the head with it I just laugh. Intelligence is a trait that some humans possess, but certainly not all.

well you could say "breeds" but it's considered a vulgar term, very fascist

as far as arguing religion and philosophy
I don't believe the Greeks would agree with you, because this exercise created the foundation of the western tradition.

Who asked you?

Breed simply means sexual reproduction. Only members of the same species can breed. Of course there are variations within a species that can be combined and inherited in this process. For example a black man and a white woman can have a child that will inherit characteristics of both parents; however, a cat and a dog will never be able to do this. Nature set up this system to ensure survival of the species.

As far as the Greek and other ancient civilizations: the people remain but the social systems are gone for a reason - they didn't work, or only worked for their time. Thanks to the written word we are able to learn from the ancients.

Copy and paste:

Now tell me there is nothing scientific about races.
Your DNA can even determine what tribe you are from in a very specific area.

Also, social practices ie. Culture is not determined by DNA

We shouldn't discriminate based on race/DNA because no one gets a say in that, the way you act on the other hand is completely up to the individual.

Mr.Crunch I don't need to be asked. I am free to express my opinions whenever and wherever I choose. The fact that you don't like it only emboldens my resolve.

You believe that "nature set this up"? Pretty smart huh?

Nature is just a convenient way to refer to the processes that have occurred over the past 13.7 billion years. Mother nature is an easier way speak of these things, it doesn't actually mean any specific entity.

I know what breed means silly,
perhaps your time would much better utilized convincing the Persians that their really Semites after all.
you should much farther along to your goal of world peace then.

as far as point two in concerned, you can't make a great deal of sense when your argument about religion is that you shouldn't argue about religion.
perhaps you should read the Greeks a little more in depth.
but if I was to answer our argument which you state should never be stated; then I would say this.

by your logic as soon as you sign off your point is no longer valid because your not here.

Sorry to have twisted your arm to reply on a topic titled Because God Said So. You talk about wasting time and arguing. Make the best of what we have? You speak from both sides of your keyboard and don't have a clue in between. Waste not, want not.

Technically JCP none of us are "here", but at the same time once written these words will exist long after we are all gone.

All religions have more in common than they have differences; most believe in a supreme being and most believe that a messiah is coming (all except the Christians that is). But I would no more try to convince a Muslim that he is like a Jew than I would try to move a mountain. Many endeavors are a waste of time, and to recognize this is the ultimate goal of intelligence.

Darwin's theory of evolution was anything but proved. However, it is evident that intermingling of species does not reproduce offspring- you are right about that. In fact I think you may be an authority on that subject.

I don't mean to play devil's advocate here, but if we "evolved" from something else, why is it that our DNA has no record of any links to another species? Google it, you won't find much. Scientist can't decide if it's chimps or orangutans we are closer related to when we share more genetic similarities with the gold fish or a pine tree. If it were really any of those four choice don't you think it would be mapped out already? Like I posted earlier, DNA can tell what tribe you are from and where that tribe lived, are scientist really to say that they can't find which link we came from?

About 4 years ago googling DNA comparisons was easy to do, I can't find a single article now. The whole thing is a festering stink pot. DNA doesn't lie though, even mutated genes tell stories of the past.

I'm still trying to get past the part were you argue that you shouldn't argue.
until you resolve this conundrum I don't believe you should tackle any higher philosophies.

The Theory of Evolution is the most proved theory in history. To deny it is like trying to deny gravity. We don't know exactly how gravity works, but we know it exists.
