I have a T-shirt and two balloons

Well, I'm looking for a total of 3 girls to sing.
We had 2 girls, and both were not able to be reliable.
.
Since the group started, harmonies have been become a more important part of many of the newer songs.
The guys cannot sing the high harmonies.
.
Anyway, no - I'm not looking for a harem.
But 3 girls will flesh out all the harmonies. And the group will still be ablr to perform if 2 of them cancel . . . speaking of which - here's the update:

Girl #5 saw my Myspace page, said she’s not in my league. I re-invited her, says she’ll come.
Girl #6 Has a schedule conflict on our rehearsal night. I believe her, and also believe she is wants to come.

I think I'll have 2 girls showing tonight, but there's always last minute cancellations, eh?

Sounds like my trouble just getting 4 ppl together. The guitarist couldn't make it Mon nite, but no one bothered to tell me. So I made arrangements for the wife to pick Jace up at daycare, & since she had the kid's car seat, we couldn't change those plans...but all I got was lame-assed excuses as to why no one let me know of the change...so...we're gonne try to get together again...maybe on Sat...

I've had a real hard time getting together on Saturdays . . .

Girl #3 came to rehearsal & was accepted. Just emailed me that she can’t make tonight’s rehearsal. . . . Steeeeriike ONE!
Girl #4 says she’s too busy at work

My thought is that I'll probably have to eventually interview 30 girls to find 3.

Had another girl contact me tonight, girl #8.
And there's an update on girl #5, who just got two strikes.

I'm starting to think that I might actually find someone good to work with, and soon. Lotta response from this ad . . .
Also, I might eventually re-contact girls 2 & 4, in a week or so. I try to give folks the benefit of the doubt . . .

Can I ask what you used as an add please?

I said I'm not looking for a girlfriend, I am looking for a singer.

I said we perform all original music, and listed the prevalant styles I perform.
.
I said they must commit to 1 rehearsal a week.
.
I posted 4 pictures in widely disimilar peformance settings.
.
I referred them to my MySpace page for music samples, and also so they could see pictures of us performing in public (in other words - I'm for real).
Also, it doesn't hurt if they notice that over 28,000 people have visited my page.

I mentioned that I want to work with someone relatively close. And so I pulled out a map of CT, looked up and and listed every town/city which I thought were relatively close. It came out to be a fairly long list of 23 towns.

Lot of work? Maybe; matter of opinion, I guess.
Depends upon how commited you are . . .

I am a firm believer in clear concise communication.

Those are just things people say when they're not interested. Very few are honest enough to tell you the truth.

The only excuse I've never heard was "I've got a flat tire."

But I had one excuse which was close: "I ran out of gas."

Turns out the guy really did run out - I met him down the road w/ a gas can . . .
Man was he ever embarrassed . . .

I'd originally started this, basically, just to expose all the commonplace excuses that we often hear, and have a little laugh at the angst involved in finding dependable band memebers.
.
But, I don't want to run any risk of embarrassing anyone, and these girls have all proven to be pretty nice people.
.
It started out as fun, but if I were continue this, it'd be uncool.
.
What I WILL do, however, is let you guys know when some of these - or other girls become members of the band.
