I know a fair bit about stone too, and know some prominent Geologists. Only one of them will put his name to that theory, (at least since the last time I heard).I've never been in Egypt. The television show I saw on the topic was on public television I believe. They showed numerous examples of very old architecture from around the world that had water erosion damage and numerous examples that had wind erosion damage. The Spinx has WATER EROSION damage. From what I saw it was clear that it WAS water erosion. I guess there's no way to prove it since it is a theory. But the show I saw was most definitely convincing to me, as dumbass as I may be...
Discovery channel is a place for people who sell books and theories these days. Egyptian Archaeology is in Egypt. No offence this road is a very old one. Literally.fisherman bob wrote:Did you know that the Sphinx in Egypt shows SCIENTIFIC SIGNS OF WATER EROSION? What does that MEAN? That MEANS that when the Spinx was built (some estimates hundreds to almost a thousand years older than the pyramids) there MUST HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF RAINFALL there and that LATER there wasn't enough rain to cause the erosion pattern.
