Enjoy the 9mm Phil. Try it out with some hollow points before you trust your life on it. Some semiauto pistols wont feed / function with hollow points. No matter who makes em. Simple to correct by polishing the feed ramp in most cases. ( I do a lot of that )
There is nothing quite as much fun as a single action .22, too bad you had to trade it off.

I agree that everybody has the right to defend yourself. However, stocking up on guns isn't going to solve our economic problems. Sure for a while you could rob people at gunpoint and take their money , food, etc. But in short order there's not going to be anything to rob. Our entire government system needs to be completely changed. We waste billions of dollars in bureaucracy, red tape, pork barrel projects, failing health care, etc. and our values are completely screwed up. Take for example the New York Yankees signing three ball players for 250 million dollars at a time when the auto makers (who employ thousands of people) are begging for 17 billion dollars. I think the three ball players could get along on a paltry 500,000 dollars each and they take the rest of the 248.5 million dollars and use that to help fix our crumbling infrastructure. The three ball players would also be able to endorse products and still make millions of dollars. What is the combined income of all the major sports in this country? I'm not begrudging anybody making what the economy will bear, but I believe that at THIS time the economy CAN'T BEAR IT. The fat CEO'S and company owners NEED to drastically cut their salaries, just as the unions HAVE TO MAKE CONCESSIONS OR THEY ARE GOING TO PUT EVERYBODY OUT OF BUSINESS. The federal government is going to have to make extreme cuts in their budget (including getting the fu*k out of Iraq ASAP). All the guns in the hands of pissed off people isn't going to solve any of our problems, it's only going to make things worse. Later...

I'm happy with my 12 guage sawed-off pump "riot" gun loaded with doubleaught buckshot. It's kinda a warm-fuzzy feeling :P . I'm thinking about putting strings and pickups on it too. I wonder how it would sound?

Bob.
I am in agreement with you. I think maybe you missed the point of my post.
I am relaying a fact of observation. Not condoneing a course of action.
One reason I refuse to work as a Nurse any longer is that I will not be a party to, or willing participant in, the risk of human life and safety for the sake of making Doctors and the Boards of Directors richer.
I won't live their lies to line their pockets. (mine maybe, I aint perfect)
I know you have a vast knowledge of history Bob from our previous conversations.
One could easly compare what is going on in America today, to the slow degredation of the conditions in France prior to the French Revolution.
End result, famine then bloodbath followed by dictatorship. Interesting.

I have my father's old 22 revolver, that isn't a single action, & I prefer it biggly. What's so cool about single action, sans?

I thought I'd traded UP, fer heaven's sake!

Doesn't the 9mm have more punch? Isn't ot better to have more bullets in yer gun? I don't understand.

I know very little about guns, but I woulda thunk it was a much better trade than what you're telling me it was, & now I'm grumpy.

Still havent shot the thing. I was feeling too laid back to go out in the cold & make that much noise on new years eve, Maybe later today, cuz I'm frustrated that my guitarist called in sick for practice - GRRRRRRRrrrr!

Hey bob,
although I don't work with guns, I also have been seeing what sans has referred to. People are pissed off, because of all of the problems you mentioned.

There's also rampant rumors of executive orders about 'civil dissent' and rumors of FEMA detention camps popping up right here in the USA, supposedly for the national guard to use as massive detention centers. With the patriot act, FISA, and all the other laws being criminally altered to take away our freedoms, I can't blame anyone for wanting to own guns. Quite a few friends, and co-workers recently have bought guns, mostly for the reason that things are so damn uncertain right now. Seems like the whole world is falling apart.

Our entire governing body, from local to state, to federal, is completely corrupted and in bed with the corporations. They have too much of a strangle-hold on everything, and won't give it up easily. These bailouts are a good example. Even in failure, they refuse to submit, and just rob the treasury (taxpayers).

I really hope things change for teh better when GWB leaves office, but the cynic in me doesn't really believe anything will change.

Wow, I just hijacked my own thread. lol.

Nothing at all wrong with the trade Phil.
I just enjoy the "ol west" feel of a SA.
I own two (well my wife confinscated one of them for herself)
A SAA in .45 Long Colt, and a 3/4 scale SAA in 38 special.
My favorite .22 is a Smith & Wesson model 17. Double action target pistol.
Much fun to be had. Have also taken more game with his revolver than any other weapon I own.
9mm much more effective defense weapon. And the least expensive centerfire ammo on the market as well. Enjoy!
