I just love it when the psychological community comes up with these stereotypes from a sample of ppl to determine personality types.

You could just as easily say something along the lines of:

Most serial killers eat bananas.

Bisexuals like emo.

White ppl are the only race to eat mayonaise.

Big men with little foo-foo dogs are more sensitive than junk-yard dog owners.

Gun owners are three times as likely to kill someone with a knife than ppl who don't own them.

Beer drinkers are more likely to be aggressive,

The list goes on. I don't believe that you can determine anything about anyone until you start to get to know them a bit. This crap is like the dating service ppl who match you by your "personality," i.e. it's pure crap.

There are a helluva lot of us who just don't fit the molds. All I can say is, be your own person, watch out for ppl with tattoos on their faces, & be extremely suspicious of everyone, cuz they're all nuts!

I re-read Craig's post. It didn't say anything about people who like blues. Does anybody have any insight on us blues lovers? I can't figure us out. All the different personalities I've seen in blues bands defies stereotyping I guess. Later...

Well thanks Bob (and Sans)!

Yes, we'll be selling online through downloads or snail mail.

Get the snail mail, cause we have a professional artist working on our album cover right now, and also, it will be a double album, which we are proud of, because other than Zappa, I don't know off-hand of any other bands who debuted with a double album.

My first impression would be that they like structure, but need to do it their own way in the context of that structure.

Bob, ppl who love the blues are mostly over 40 & drink alcohol in large quantities (& aren't too particular about where it comes from). They tend to be Democrats. They either smoke marihuana, or used to, or are going to at their very next opportunity. They often live in quaint little suburbian towns with other ppl who hate rap & techno. They proudly display their rebel flags, even when they were born, raised, & still live in Detroit, MI. They like bowling, yard darts, fireworks & fishing, and golf & NASCAR seem to be an upcoming favorite as well. Many of them are Sagitarians, although there are also quite a few Liberians, some of which you may have seen have developed a new huge untenderable rectangular coin of the realm with .999% pure silver leaf. They know which stadiums have astroturf & which have real grass. Though subjects like astrology & tarot reading intrigues them, they are very fearful of these "dark arts" as a rule. There are some who wear berets, but that is a subset of blues lovers best not described.

Zip's got me musically pegged exactly right. On the other hand Philby's description is way off except I fish and play frisbee golf (it's a form of golf anyway). I didn't know Liberians were into the blues. I thought they were mostly into armed rebellion and cutting off each others arms or legs. I don't smoke anything or drink any alcohol. I don't necessarily hate rap, I simply don't understand it. Technically it isn't really music because it does not follow a melodic progression. I don't display any flags. I'm not into NASCAR but I appreciate the athletic ability of the drivers. A lot of people argue that auto racing isn't really a sport like basketball or baseball but when is the last time you saw a really fat out-of-shape NASCAR or Indy driver? I am a Capricorn. I actually enjoy astrology. I think there's something to it. I studied it fairly intensively when I was in high school. I don't wear a beret but I'm often seen with a fishing hat of some kind on (Pflueger, Stren, Mepps, Cabella's, etc.). I was born on Long Island , NY, moved to Sacramento Ca when I was one. Then we moved to Boston, Ma when I was eight, then moved to New Jersey when I was 13. Spent one year in Knoxville, Tn at age 21. Back to New Jersey until age 31, then moved to Kansas City and still live here today at age 50. I guess that explains everything. Later...
