Hey cut me some slack
I've spent a majority of my musical life playing at home and playing bands that never left a garage, so I'm new to this playing gigs, management, getting paid, etc...
I was thinking of an article I read about how the music industry is collapsing on itself and how bands today are getting out there, and starting seeing how the industry and middle men are trying to weasel their way back in to the newer models. It had just occurred to me that outside the band itself playing a gig for money and the fans that pay the money to see the band, all those promoters, labels, managers, etc.. just want in on the $$.
Sure, some of them offer a service to one end or the other, but outside of that, the two necessary ingredients stay the same.
And I quit pot 6 years ago
