good call howlinj...the saying goes the same for drinking with an irish man...you can wax lyrical about everything and anything but NEVER talk of religion or politics....when people start the "us and them" way of thinking thats where the trouble starts.....

it is unique that "christian" music has started to "borrow" from many different musical styles...personaly i think its just plain wrong to sing "christian" vocals over rap,metal,punk,rock or any other type of music that has its roots in the"just about as far as you can get from" non-christian world.

is it just a ploy to get the next generation of "christians" on board??

is it just a little harmless fun to preach a message over noise that the kids will love but the old folks SHOULD hate etc.

who knows.....i sure dont..as i always say.....each to there own.

I think you have hit on something there. And I would guess it's not the first time it's happened.

See, rock and roll was rooted in rebellion. It is the language of rebellion, in many ways. Martin Luther said that a rebel is an enemy of God! So this is either the mother of all outlandish contradictions, or a major sea change in Christianity...which wouldn't be such a bad thing, either.

christian punk? i didn't know there was such a thing ! as a used 2 be bar room player for years to a recently saved christian i'm glad to know stuff like this is there, i play in church every sunday but we have a teen class that i'm sure would be interested in this . can you give me any bands that are out there that i might hear some of this christian punk....or metal?

Last time i thought about the whole "punk rock is dead" i laughed, how is it dead when oppression still lives,punk rock will always be around as long as fascist rules and guide lines are attempted to be pumped into each and every generation and there WILL be a counter voice out there(i hope).To get to my point, punk rock never died,just the whole 80's punk rock scene died,along with everything else that happened in that decade,its dirty music with aggression and usually a point about NOT letting someone tell you what too beleave in.If anything POP killed the general idea of it for those close minded people sitting on there ass in front of there TV,so don't base your opinion on other people's opinions, go jump into savage bloody mosh pit and tell me its dead.

True true! One thing I loved about punk was that it resurrected music as a force of rebellion. That "force" really got soft in the early to late 70s.

And the biggest thing you can appreciate about rebel music is that its rarely lacking in passion,i wish i could say the same for what i hear on the radio,but the rebels and the radio don't mix well,hence why one is for the money and one is for the show, the black sheep will prevail!!
