This thread was about the DJ?

Oh silly me, I must be lost. I stayed away from DJ Bomb Blast specifically.

Ron, yeah nice bus.. LOL You had a picture of it in your profile.

I bet people even see you drive by and they say and I quote, "gee that's some bus". lol

Bob you hit the nail on the head as far as some soloist go. But that wasn't the problem here ... the guitarist was weak, played the chords with no feeling ... no groove. The bass player was the only one that had a groove but he couldn't move the band by himself, so when I hook up to his groove it pulled the rest of the band up on the groove. In my mind you need 2 strong players in a band to get a groove going, bass or guiter, key and guitar or keys and bass. I think that's why the rest of the band had so much fun ... I was the 2nd strong player, the catalyst, to drive the groove and once a strong groove is established the beat is tighter the horns can hit their marks better ... the whole thing comes together.

I've been playing for 40 yrs in bands so I'm a seasoned player and now that I have to control my volume ... I like to leave holes for horns or guitar shots or licks ... and as you stated balance is the key to a good band ... I could agree more, it's like a hockey or baseball team ... it's team work that make a great band not the individual.

Irminsul ... I think you posted to the wrong thread ...LOL ... but I agree what you said about DJ

Hey Ron, here's a thought for you.

Next time you want to be creepy, go to another thread. I liked your story about your encounter, but I think you have a hair stuck on your anus, to be frank. All you have to do is hit the button labeled "start new topic" off of the "general chat" or any other you like and you are off to the races.

So next time, feel free to read but you don't really need to comment on the thread I started, seeing how all I do is crap and all you play is divine.

PS: I love those dark circles under your eyes. That must be from the long hours you spend chained to your key board, ya wanker. lol

Ron, i turned to R&B and Funk back in the late 70's 80's after doing the R&R scene...my only down fall in these parts and that genre; was me being a blond haired blue eyed Funk player, needless to say i was shuned by one group of musicians and didn't fit in with the other...yes i was an outcast. Oh well...so i kept practicing anyway by myself...a few years of that then a wife and a baby on the way i put my 73 and 78 Jazz basses in a closet, and thats where they stayed for over 17 years; around 2000 i pulled them out started where i left off and added Fusion and Smooth Jazz, built my rig back up...and here i am. I dabble in standard Jazz once in awhile, and slowly i'm refining my knowledge of it.
I'd love to set down and swap licks with you.

Yes i slap, pop, dead note, accent, ghostnote, chordial, tap a little, and use precussion with both hands plus use Classical guitar fingering techniques such as finger picking and strumming when need be.
And the main point is for my own enjoyment...i absolutely love being blessed by being capable of doing these things...whether anyone besides myself ever hears it or not. It's a love affair in every sense of the word.

This thread is turning into quite the tear jerker, isn't it? lol

LOL "Ever since my car crash, I have been working on regaining the use of my left arm, but to no avail. I had to teach myself to walk again and I chipped both front teeth on the concrete stairs outside my mansion. My wife left me for a Vietnam veteran, but that was ok, as she has herpes and HIV. I spent a lot of time snow skiing and studying the art of Tantric massage until I met a female yogi who changed my life and showed me the way of Budda. I also learned how to levitate and in time, actually astral projected my inner being across into the 5th dimension. While I was there, I became entangled and had to leave part of my soul behind, but regained the use of my right arm to rub one off to a picture of Ron and his tour bus."

You may quote me. LOL

I am now a proud sponsor of 10 orphans via SAVE THE CHILDREN. I make my checks directly to Sally Struthers and in return she donates her hair to LOCKS OF LOVE.

Elton John was the last recipient of Sally's hair, but the operation wasn't a complete success. Her hair seems to be falling out at a high rate of speed, as we think he was doused with a major form of cosmic radiation and as a result, he has been gifted with both the ability to play bass and stretch his body in weird contortionist positions, not completely unlike Mr. fantastic of the FANTASTIC FOUR.

And did I ever mention I had been abducted by aliens? They said they like to use us to make a fermented drink. Oh and that alien anal probe is DAMN COLD!

WE now return you to "As the stomach churns".. LMAO

Well said. It is, after all, a BAND. Musicians that want to showboat all night long need to be solo artists. It kills the music. Everything has it's time and place in a good arrangement, and when everyone plays to compliment one another, the music is the star, and the entire band receives the benefit of it.

I enjoy compliments as much as anyone, but after a gig, rather than someone say "You're a really good singer" I much prefer someone approaching the band and saying "You guys are awesome! You guys kicked ass tonight!"

That tells me we're getting it right. Because the entire band is getting recognition, which means we were a team, the music was inseperable from individual identities.

Capt. Snott, this is the last piece of intelligent verbage i will waste on you , i'd suggest you heed it dearly.
It shan't be long before you spout off your (what you think is funny) little halfass immature digs to the wrong person...and let me reiterate...the WRONG person, and that said person will leave you...if you're lucky, only spitting out your green teeth all over the sidewalk...if the person does what you like to do "kick 'em while they're down" perhaps they'll throw in some broken ribs and a punctured lung, with a month long hospital stay with a jaw wired shut and a respriator to breath for you... will make you think twice then won't it?

Nahh, you're the type that would come back for round 2.

Pitiful

Ron, even though i took an extended hiatus...music never left me for one minute; you could say "i left it, it never left me". When the bug bit again...i approached it with a new zest for it.

Franny, that's just the taste of you biting either a) your hand b) the soap c) your pillow.

Have a nice day!!!

(My green teeth? Gee Franny you really lost it now, huh? I'd chalk this up to "mind over matter". "I don't mind and you don't matter". lol)

Franny ... I hear yea. Sometime a break is a good thing. I have done the same but not that long. I love the music part but I hate the industry and it wears on me at times and I need a break.

Yeah - excuse my thread confusion.

Franny I have a suggestion. Instead of putting so much energy into envisioning the physical mutilation of another member of this forum, how about working up some music you are proud of and posting it on your profile? This is a sincere request. I want to hear how you play.
