I don't recognize the title. Have you considered not having a new thread for every song? It has pros and cons like anything..... Hand grenades, taxes, surfing....

That makes sense. I rarely start a new thread for anything. I find a place where it seems relevant. For everyone else here, well see Mike's 4 threads about a trip to Mexico.

I play A LOT of different genres. Some people don't care for certain genres. That's certain. Others like diversity.

that's why i only play jazz. and bluegrass. and rock. and retro country. and blues. and soca. and.....

Genres , Genres . Genres

Genres are something PR people and DJ's made up to pigeonhole musicians into their pseudo professional opinionated classifications. A great deal of the time they get it wrong anyway.

Music is something that musicians create and a musical composition simply is what it is. Music only falls into two classifications, good and bad. And those are determined by the listener not the composer or the critic. When you begin pigeonholing your own creations by what some PR guy or DJ dictates you need help. So why do it? Why not simply let the music stand on its own and let the listener decide?

I don't know any musicians who sit down to write a genre. Most simply have an idea for a song.

Consider this too, Schmeddy. I'm also looking for critiques every time I upload something. Sometimes a thread (like this one) will get hits and morph into something completely different and that's very cool to me. Notice that you and I are conversing back and forth on a metal thread?? I expected this because you like metal and I uploaded that song for you because I knew you would like it (along w/ the OTHER metal heads out there).

You have to also consider that a LOT of people visit this site and DON'T participate. I'm uploading this stuff for all those people as well because they often go to the hyperlinks and don't correspond but they LISTEN.
