Don't go with those guys, just wasting your time on empty promises again. If you are serious about gigging, and forming your own band to do it, then you've got to have a business plan which includes the details on where/when you'd be playing and rehearsing, the kind of income expected, short-term and long-term goals. And start searching for members now, even if it will be spring before you start getting serious.
Forming a band is a lot of work, which is why I've given up on it, and will only look now at joining a group where someone else has done the hard work.

I audiutioned a guitarist a couple of weeks ago, thought he had his sh*t together, but he was in the "idea" stage. I told him if he finds a 3rd player like he was thinking about, and gets some details worked out, then get back in touch with me.
I auditioned for a Neil Young tribute band last week. Singer knew the songs and had the tones right, as did the lead guitarist. But right up front I asked the singer (organizer of the whole thing) what he had in mind for gigs. There's 1 NY tribute band in this area that gets about 6 gigs a year. The guy admitted he didn't have any club contacts or any solid ideas on gigs, and was hoping the others in the band would be able to assist. I didn't even bother to explain the horrible pay situation going on with bands in this area.
