C'mon Mark. Cut the guy some slack. He evidently has the guitar OUT OF THE CASE.
Gotta start somewhere.

as soon as he's ready to talk music instead of busy w an agenda....i'll cut him some slack. 8)

below is from yesterday's "romper room section"....he got all butt hurt and i guess he felt threatened having nothing to add to a musical conversation!

angelsshotgun wrote:Why don't you guys all go and start a musical thread in the other section instead of mucking this one with unimportant musical crap. You are all doing it in different threads on the bm side of allowing serious discussion about other stuff.

Do you guys really want me to start fuuucckking around with the part that is reserved for pure musical discussion?

RUI Musik wrote:Schmed, I never heard about The Who shoplifting, but I do know they were thousands of pounds in debt for years from destroyed equipment. But you have to admit as a marketing strategy it worked.

Might have been in The Kids Are Alright.

i never heard anything about PT shoplifting (gtrs?????). that'd have to be one big trench coat he was wearing!

perhaps you're thinking of The Band? in "The Last Waltz", Richard Manuel tells the story about how they were living hand to mouth and they'd all go into a supermarket to shoplift lunch meats.

I saw that too. I was thinking about that. Maybe it was in Rolling Stone when Entwistle died. He said he would go into a music shop and run out the door with a guitar. Now I'll have to look it up.

I heard of a guy who walked out of Wurlitzer in Boston (THE only big music store in the city at the time) with a guitar, dropped it in his car, then went back for a case and got caught!

Mike Judge had the best scene like that in his movie, Extract. Hot girl goes into a guitar shop and says she's looking for a guitar for her dad. The dorks working there are drooling all over her. She asks if it comes wea case, they both go to get it, she walks out with the guitar. :D

No way I'm keeping a $1500 (or more) guitar in a gig bag. Hard cases have their purpose. Keep your eyes on ALL your gear when gigging.
