Hey, Kristian. Wanna get on Ohm Studio and play trumpet on some of my tracks?

"as been said before hit the open mic nights to find players.. if you are good they will approach you afterwards.."

And if you suck they may also approach you. But that may not necessarily be a good thing.

Yet when all else fails you will still be welcome here at BandMix where musicians never die but slowly fade away. :)

very true Slack, I was just speaking from my past experiences at open mic nights,..I was hired twice by 2 different bands at two different open mic events after playing electrified rock n roll lead guitar.. that is a side of me nobody here knows about I guess, because of the music I have posted here, which does not reflect my rock n roll / blues roots.. LOL

It can work - at the right OMs, of course. I was asked to join a band a couple of weeks ago based on meeting some of the people at an open mic - and a couple of them had also come to one of the OMs I hosted. I had to turn them down though, as I'm not looking to get back into a full-electric thing.

.
Agreed.
And also, people, keep in mind that a lot of the folks who come up to you (guys and girls both) will be fans.
And fans talk to one another.
And networking is always good; that's how band members always hook up.
.
Also, one other thing: one open mike may be widely dissimilar to another.
I've run 2 completely different open mikes; one is mostly beginners, and the other has a lot of very talented people who are already out gigging.
Anyway, you need to move around, circulate, talk to people, and BE INVOLVED.
