Three dollar beer should be a hanging offense.

That's for 16 oz Sam Adams Octoberfest draft, the Bud was $2. Typical in this area for 'name' beer is $5 and up. Except for the dives where you dont' want to drink at all.

When I drink I generally do so on my own property.
Occasionally with a meal at a restaurant.
I much prefer a good wheat or a dark beer.
Even that is getting expensive.
My life long friend, whom lives in the Dallas area brews his own, and it is quite good.
One day perhaps my wife and I will open our own beergarten.
It is a dream we share.

$3 for a SA sounds like a good deal to me.

The place we're playing Friday gives us each three drink tickets for whatever we want; bottled Heineken is $3.50. I typically drink 3 to 4, I know better than to drink more than that.

Drinking and encouraging drinking is a big part of what we do. Johnny is popular with the bar owners because he typically does a toast every other song. I like that because it gives me a few seconds to check my tuning - and drink!
