Maryland. God's country? At it's best, Maryland was mediocre. I grew up there, absorbing toxic lethargy rays from the very ground!

After I left it became a Yankee state...and worse - my home town, Elkton, became a sh*t hole. When I was up there for my brother's funeral I suggested going to our favorite watering hole and my surviving brother told me, "Nobody goes to that side of town, now."

Crack, homeless, cops, gangs - you didn't see that when I was in school.

Pretty depressing. Not meaning to rag on your state, but I guess I did anyway. I know what b-more and PG county are like as well. Hope it's better where you are. I'm thinking western MD?

Hmmm, well if Maryland we to be "real" in the sense that their most widely known trademark was the symbol, we'd probably have to stick a crab on our quarter. Haven't tried them yet, but everyone tells me our crabs are incredible, rivaled only by San Fransisco and some place in Washington, and a few other spots farther northeast.

I was born and raised in Cali though....and honestly, what would need to go on the quarter is a sharply defined split between Northern and Southern California.

When I came home from overseas my brothers and sisters greeted me with a bushel of crabs and a case of Heiniken. And other stuff.

People person? Nah. I just hate to see my hometown fall into a pit.

Is Georgia better? Yes. Marginally.

No offense meant. And just out of curiosity - are you in western MD?
