Most of that great tone is coming from Mikey's fingers. You would be surprised to find many idolized artists have mediocre equipment that a good player can extract incredible tone with. There is also a flip side where a player can have the best equipment and sound substandard. This I have witnessed at open jams: PRS guitars, Soldano Amps, Top End effects processors can't help some of these players.

yeah that's some pretty badass tone bro-

I'm curious on the grit tho- you said you were using an OD? I've been horking on smoother distortion lately and have started using OD's to take out the grit- what is your OD pedal that's giving you so much, or is it the marshall?

Thanks again guys for the input! Kramerguy, the tone on this was a combination of guitar settings, amp settings and effects. The Plexi has 4 inputs and you can jump them to get different tones also. If you're looking for a good OD pedal I recommend the Bogner Ecstasy Red.

Just checked out that pedal, looks pretty good!
