Jimmy's execution sounded smoother. Slight edge to Jeff because of his tone, but production-wise seemed fairly even, though they had different over-all sound fields. I liked Jeff's a little better.

There seemed to be a timing glitch in the exact same place for both. Is it in the original?

Its weird how Everybody here said the exact opposite of what I said about the production on both versions.

I must be missing something.

. Everybody hears differently. Everybody interprets differently. That's what makes the world go round....

I liked Jeff's guitar tone and the fact you could hear the bass line with no effort. I felt like I was searching for the bass line on Jimmy's.

Was/is that Santana? Shows how much idk. lol

That must be a pretty cool elevator! Although Santana has jumped the shark in recent years.

don't get me started on santana's music of the last 10 yrs or so. hey, i guess everyone needs to make a buck...still, i never realized he was starving before.

somewhere i have an old live recording of PENTAZZ a group i used to play w that did "Europa". fine group of musicians...the gtrst could really cop a nice santana vibe using one of those Koa bodied Kramers w the aluminum neck and a little MusicMan combo. anyway, on this recording after the gtr solo the saxman solos and after a bit he hits this really high note and sustains it for awhile....completely supporting the note.....then he jumps it up like a fifth from there! that guy could really play. gonna have to look around and see if i can find it.

I sat in with a friends band we did Europa very similar to what you are describing. this Sax player had a smaller sax I'm guessing they call it a tenor but damn he could hit some high notes with that thing!

Was it small, as in tiny, and fairly high pitched? If so it might have been a curved soprano. Next up in size is the alto (think David Sanborn), and next up is the tenor (think Michael Brecker, or John Coltrane when he wasn't playing his straight soprano)

When playing it wasn't even to his waist. Best I can remember it was 12 to 14 inches and curved.
