It is funny how tastes change over time. My first electric was a '62ish Fender Duo-Sonic. I really wanted to love that guitar but never liked the way it sounded or played. At 15 I bought a '67 Gibson SG Special with P90s and I loved everything about it. This was my main axe for 15 years doing rock, pop, jazz, fusion, and punk. I often slept with that guitar.
While in college a friend got an Olympic White Strat and it played great and got sounds I couldn't touch on my SG. Hmmmm. I stayed with the SG and picked up a 335 for more sophisticated tones while doing a little LA session work.
I backed out of the music scene when my kids were born and returned to it 15 yrs later. After studying Jimi, SRV, Clapton and Jeff Beck styles a nice Strat was at the top of my GAS list. It became my main axe for 6 years or so until I started hearing these guys just tearing up Telecasters. What a magnificent voice they have. Gotta have one! This has been my main axe for the last few years and my Gibsons aren't feeling the love... until something else cool comes along.

P 90's are awesome.
But I lovin the "Classic 57 Humbuckers" on my ES 339.
I'm pretty sure they were wound with MARSHALL amps in mind.
Excuse the pun but the are a classic combination.
The neck feels like it was custom built for my hands as well.
Nothing I have ever picked up has been as comfortable and natural feeling to me.
A man with large or beefy hands might well feel different but anyone with average or smaller hands should at least cop a feel on a ES 339
