Well, firstly, I'm not an Obama supporter, I support Jill Stein, as I've stated many times here. Second, I sat out the debates because I knew it would be far less a waste of time to review the independent media, including factcheck, politifact, and alternet, for a fair and unbiased summary of the night. In my post, did I get anything wrong in my summary? Nope.

J-HALEY wrote:This IS IMO the problem with this country! YOU won't even take the time to educate yourself about the election so you depend on the media to do it for you.

Are you serious?? You think watching a guy LIE (either one) for two hours somehow merits involvement over actually doing research and investigation into the candidates words vs. their own actions? I don't need to hear obama or mitt LIE to me to be considered "involved", in fact, I'd go as far as saying that ANYONE who bases their vote based on anything said in a debate (these days) is a fool and part of the reason we have such nitwits in office.

In the link above is an article from the news media reporting on the Presidential debate mis-steps as reported from factcheck I couldn't find the actual factcheck website but as far as I can tell this is legit. It shows mis-steps on both sides.

And by your own admission, your beloved mitt lied just as much as obummer, right? Yet you still fawn over him as if he's going to save the country. Last night's debate should have only proven one thing to anyone, and that is simply that neither one of them is going to do anything outside of continuing the already entrenched status-quo. Mark my words, no matter who wins, NOTHING WILL CHANGE.

That means things will continue to suck and continue to spiral downwards.

How can anyone possibly expect any different?

That's not a really fair assessment Jeff.

Fearless leader didn't have time to prepare for the debate. He was busy "governing" at celebrity parties & concerts, golf courses, and high dollar resorts around the world.

1) So your not an Obama supporter. Voting for Jill Stien IMO is basically the same thing. Not because of her politics but because she has NO CHANCE of winning thus diluting the voting base down to an Obama victory! Mitt Romney is not my first choice. ANYONE will do better than the current socialist, marxist that believes bigger government is the answer to our problems! Mitt is for competion amoung private companies and that will get us a lot further than someone with marxist idea's.

2) No I don't think Romney lied as much as Obama! Obama lied WAY more than Romney did!

3) You Really have 2 choices. It comes down to 2 candidates. If you don't listen to what they are saying you cannot choose which one is better for the country. I was not speaking to just YOU when I posted this. Mike also said "Ditto" in regards to your post.

Lets face it the majority of Obama supporters did NOT watch the debate and will fall for the Obama media for spoon fed crap.

For me Obama knows nothing about running a business, he really has no clue, let Wash handle everyones problems, where as Romney talked of competition and free enterprise, and more importantly to me, letting a state make decisions on things like health care instead of a national mandate.

I think Romney came over way better than Obama did, and honestly yesterday I would have told you that Obama would kill him in the debate, so I was suprised.

You guys can bash each other about your choices all you want, but you really need to dig below the surface and try to figure out how each of these candidates ideas will affect you and your familys long term. The more I look at Obama and really read into things hes already done and wants to do, he just scares the hell out of me. Its hard for me to understand why most people dont see that, but thats just my take on it. My life hasnt gotten any easier since he went into office, in fact Im dealing with more red tape and more little taxes than ever. Not to mention the basic libertys that are being taken away.

But to quote a song, I think we have passed the point of no return, no matter who is in office.

1- how is voting for a better candidate a vote for obama? It's no doubt a vote against corporate candidates, regardless of party. You might see it as a wasted vote, but it is a vote of dissent, and in my opinion, voting for either of the corporate turds presented to us is even more of a wasted vote, because you are voting FOR the status quo.

2- here's the fact-check article that your ABC news link was referring to:
http://factcheck.org/2012/10/dubious-de ... larations/

Each candidate lied and exaggerated excessively, to the point that the number-crunchers haven't finished yet tallying up exactly which one of those idiots lied more times than the other.

That alone should scare the crap out of every voter in the country, yet, this partisan crap keeps people well entrenched on their "side". It's horrifying to watch from a neutral or outside perspective.

3- Only 2 choices??! What makes that any different than only 1 choice?? Sounds like fascism to me. And that's because it is, you just don't realize it yet.

Hey John, my problem with that line of thinking is frankly mitt's business past. His company offshored as many jobs as the worst offenders in this country, layed off many more, and practiced vampire capitalism on just about every company it acquired. How is it he's going to care about my blue-collar ass more than obama?

They are the same candidate. Each wears a different color tie, but essentially the exact same policies and same corporate puppeteers.

No matter which one wins the election, I will view it as a loss for the american people.

Obama was somewhat subdued and was keeping a defensive posture on purpose.. you give Romney enough rope he will eventually hang himself, Obama just needs toi let out a few more feet of rope next debate..

"Read a few independent articles this morning."

Indeed, those read like real "independent" articles.

We all know stretches and outright lies will be told. The only real thing that matters is which man will work with Congress to slow down the train before it goes over the cliff.

Of, course, that implies Congress cares about something other than getting re-elected.

So, if Obama gets in a spineless Congress will allow him to continue taking the nation away from being a Constitutional Republic, 139 Presidential Orders and more, and if Romney gets elected the same will happen, but at a slower pace, because Romney is not as socialist/Marxist as Obama is.

I feel very sorry for my children and grand children.

You know, J, it seems to me the bottom line is that America is getting spanked, if not clubbed, and neither candidate can or will do anything about it, one being a slightly lesser of two evils.
