In that case, challenge accepted! I quite liked this one.

I swear, I haven't forgotten... just got sidetracked with my own band stuff!
So far, "Tense" is pretty out there (in a good way), I'm digging the beat on "Prehistoric," and I love that fretless you've got going on "Go Fourth" -- what kind of bass is that?
that bass is the neck and pickups from an old '66 P-Bass and a one piece solid zebra wood P style body that a friend of mine back in NYC made for me what....36 yrs ago. knowing it was going to be fretless i had him route the split P pickups back a little closer to the bridge.
back then i used to haunt pawn shops and would daily peruse the classifieds looking for cool instruments. i found someone who was selling a P-Bass for $125. when i got there this guy pulled out an old "60's era looking FENDER bass case....my heart rate quickened. he opens the case and my eyes dart first to the headstock. OH COOL...AN OLD SILVER SPAGHETTI "FENDER" logo! then i start looking down towards the body and notice the neck and frets are completely chewed up! wait, it gets worse....next i notice he's chiseled out a cavity for a Gibson Mudbucking pickup in the body close to the neck.....and then i notice the p'iece de resistance.....he's chopped off the "wings" to make it into a tear drop shaped body!
AAAAAAH!!!! WHAT SACRILEGE TO FOIST UPON A '66 P BASS!
anyway i figured the neck, tuning machines, pickup, case, and bridge were easily worth the $100 i offered and got it for. soon thereafter my buddy made that zebra wood body for it and i filed down what was left of the frets and polyurethaned the fingerboard. it's a total looker and sounds amazing, but it is one heavy sucker!
i keep it strung up w D'Addario Chromes (flatwounds .O40-.095) and it was recorded direct into the board w no DI or compression.
