But I also consider it a very bad thing to loan money to friends - which I will do in a pinch - but I consider it a gift more than a loan and don't expect to see it again. Or the friend either.

I called him this afternoon, and he's not starving, or his wife, or step-kids, and to show how wishy washy he is, now instead of a portable generator for collateral, he's changed his tune, and now says he will give me a Hamer guitar I should be able to get a 100 bucks for on eBay.. LOL!!

I would agree with you, but all the knowledge in the universe, coupled with all the correct choices in the universe, still pales to the glow of a heart that has compassion, true understanding (which is greater than knowledge) and love.

I have on more than one occasion offered meals to the supposed destitute.
( even gone and bought it and attempted to hand it to them )
Not once has my offer been accepted.
They ( the majority ) don't want food.
They want alcohol and or dope.
