Maybe you could find musicians in the On Line Dating sites? 8)

I looked at your site. Unless you have two heads or there is something terribly appalling about you, you will find a band. You have what folks need plus gear.

The worst case of course is there are simply NO musicians near you. But I find that unlikely.

Good luck
Talbot

If you know what's good for you, stay away from ONLINE DATING sites. This is coming from my own personal experience. A lot of people lie about who they are, or have incomplete profiles, and may not use good pictures to represent themselves well. Of course, most don't have good privacy features and most of the time the matching feature sucks and is based on match questions or some other "compatability", rather than allowing you to fill out what you feel is appropriate in a match. And a lot of them force you to fill out a profile where you have to put your eye color, hair color, height, and in some cases, personal appearance prefferences of what you are looking for in a match. If I'm signing up on a website, I want to be able to just do the required fields, (username, password, and location) and fill out my profile in my own time.

And a lot of them want you to pay for their service, which is NOT something I want to invest in. I would much rather spend my money on something more worthwhile.

nick477945 wrote:Hey Guys, One of the reasons why I said that this is probably a rhetorical topic is for this reason. I have been doing this for many years. I have and still work with some of the best musicians in this state.(Georgia) They are all busy right now or I would call them. I truthfully am not tooting my own horn when I say I have played for 15,000, for 5 and everything in between, I have had airplay on major stations, and I have the credibility to go hire the cream. I just thought that I would offer an opportunity for someone out there to do something different and mostly for more than just "the chance to play music" but everything that happens in between that makes the music that much better.
I realize that there are no lifelong commitments. Where I am concerned, my commitments are God, my wife and kids, the music and ministry. I only wanted to draw attention to the fact that it is interesting that there are a lot of people who are and have been ( some for a long time) advertizing on here that they are 'looking for...?' Band Mix will probably not last that long for me. I will just go get some folks that do want to play, (forum aside) that answer their emails even if it is a 'no', and genuinely want to have a connection far more valuable than just jamming.
My prayers are for all here that you will find what you are looking for, what you want to do, others who want to do what you are doing, mostly that you will find the purpose for which to use the musical talent that most of you have been given. Peace and Blessings to all

I'd not discount the possibility of finding compatible players on BandMix.
There seems to be a fairly large community of Christian musicians as well.
As I've stated many times. We built our mission band right here.

And that is only the tip of the iceberg when you consider all the good information that is available through the various excellent musicians whom frequent this forum.

Wow! I have noticed a very common theme on a lot of the places I've searched for music buddies. There are a lot of people who use the term "musician" to refer ONLY to people who play music as their job, rather than including musicians who play purely for fun, like me.

Clifford, you do not ever have to worry about being accused of being a musician... Finger -pecking out Lambert melodies does not qualify you as one...Wake up!

STOP hating on my playing! You don't see me going around doing that to you, do you? Learn to respect a person's style and a person's goals. And I am NOT finger-pecking. That is just a taste of what i can play.

In that case, stop typing and post more videos.

I can't. That's the only video I've got!

I'm sure no one here intends on going off-topic...so I am sure Clifford is doing what makes himself happy, I am sure Clifford if you relax and put a little emotion into your playing you can take it to the next level.

Nick,

I really enjoyed your tunes and can't imagine folks not visiting your page.

I do get more replies from the three songwriting sites that I am on and find collaborations, but those musicians are not local by any means.

I have had the unfortunate experience to have been contacted through bandmix by a person I was a bit frightened of, but luckily he went away as I requested, but on-line is on-line.

I am glad you posted because I found you and got to listen to your music, so sometimes just getting involved and time work to your advantage.

Good Luck,

Tammy

Yes. There are more than a few scary folks on Bandmix. :) :) But for the most part they aren't threatening.

Tammy, the day wouldn't be complete if a topic on bandmix didn't get derailed and morphed into another direction...Its what makes this site so Kewl... As for Clifford, well you're probably right... In fact, Its commendable and sage advice you just gave him...

(I'll be at the shoreline, along the Cliffs, retrieving lost basket balls , if you need anything... ) and pun was intended

I'm not sure whether Bandmix works for most people or not but you have to admit this forum can get pretty interesting if not downright funny at times.

The forum is not Band Mix.
I thought that was a pretty snooty reply from Nick.
I'm glad he's so much better, and that this is not what he was looking for.
Peace and blessings Nick.
