... Air Viking ... I would convey that there are a few basics that must be followed. Often these take some a lifetime to learn if ever. If one is truly a Musician then "hanging up the bass" is Never an option. If one is upset then such frustration may cause a flicker of doubt in the beginning but each time a challenge presents itself this fades and is not ever an issue. Do not ever "get involved" or marry anyone who does not accept the fact that you are a Musician. Do not let your ego rule your judgement ... how can you possibly be responsible or even capable of understanding the issues and lives and determinations of the others involved ? Look around this forum and look at the ages of those Musicians here ... they have most likely gone through some unimaginable challenges, personal and band wise, yet they still play, sing and perform and have sympathy for your tale of woe. It is the old saying that if you do not like getting wet then do not swim.

Look at yourself and if you truly did what was required of yourself regarding the "Band" and the Project ... then feel secure and confident within yourself and absolutely feel no guilt. Just realize it was a good lesson and a good journey and that now it is time to take what you have learned and move on. Ta

Thanks man, that actually helps.
I did everything that I could have and should have to keep us going and even started to look for regular gigs. Maybe some things are just not meant to be.

Another update though: I am going to be (along with 2 other friends) putting together another project, but it really won't be what I want to do. I'm hoping it'll still be fun though.

I feel ya Air. This has been the story of my life. I'm still persisting. Some may think I'm nuts but if I quit mentally or otherwise, then I can forget any success in the future. I've lost the contracts, seen bands I quit who didn't deserve it to get success, and have just been downright flaked on more than anything.

Now, if you feel you need to take a break from playing, then fine. But never hang it up cause things fell apart. Trying and failing is noble while quitting and failing isn't.

Getting and keeping a band is an all out war at times...but you should never turn away.
