Hmm difficult to comment on your thoughts. A good song, is a good song after all, no matter the content. I do know what you mean however, and agree entirely that if a song is presupposed to have a target in terms of meaning.... Then I agree your first posted message, and lyric have little meaning, other than.... "They/He/She will make it in the end". Sort of anyway....

I think people take from songs what they want frankly, unless the song has a very well forwarded message, and is about someone perhaps?
It's a great jingle, and like you I am too my worst critic. No one can tell me off better than I can

You guys are right . I am my worst critic. When I listen to a song, my ear
listens to what is most important to me. (vocal quality-lyric quality-melody)
Arrangement is a close 4th but I'm sure everyone has their own personal
order. Some here listen for political content 1st ha ha ha just kidding.
I have been so busy lately but I would like to write lyrics for someone here
to put music to. Any takers? Jahva maybe?

Anyway, I am working on another song with a Mavericks style to it and hope to have it finished in the near future. I will stay out of the trees for a while.
That's definitely a young mans gig. I did find that I can still do it, made $600
in 5 hrs.
