Ahh...South California Purples...Yes, that was the tune. Agreed ! It still is the tune, as far as I'm concerned. I'm actually working with a group right now that has worked up a cover of that tune (per my request). My 14 year old nephew picked up the bassline and knows all the lyrics, too. :P

What about Byblos ? It's pretty much exclusively a Terry Kath tune off Chicago VII. Man do I dig that tune ! It doesn't have the horns, and it's not really gritty, but there's something about it that just gets to me.
