I first clicked on this thread because I THOUGHT I was going to read about peaceful serene landscapes. Something I enjoy! Only to read a bunch of negetivity and bigoted insults directed to the State I love and have lived in my entire life. Its nice to read positive things sometimes LOL!
We have an interesting mix here, blacks, Arabs, Hispanics and rednecks, you'd fit right in.
How did you know I was a black hispanic arab?
I've got a few muslim friends and quite a few arab friends. No one tops their hospitality. Yet, I do admit that I can't tell the good ones from the bad ones by looking (usually) so I tend to be suspicious...but I'm working on overcoming that initial impression.
Maybe it's because I was almost killed 3 times in 6 days by terrorist bombing of dance clubs in Israel 2001? Or maybe it's because I narrowly escaped being torched by 4 Palestinians in east Jerusalem one night in November 2009?
Yet, on the other hand, I've joined Arabic christians several times in worship teams; and a close friend who is Sudanese muslim read from Romans 8 and recite the Lord's Prayer on a song I recorded in 1998 about the persecution and slavery of Sudanese christians.
Anyway...don't want to be spreading rumors that aren't true so I checked to see which American cities have the highest muslim (not necessarily arab) populations and was surprised to find it was L.A. but Dearborn did get a special status among them.
Los Angeles Metropolitan city including nearby suburbs and Orange
county has the highest population of Muslims from all over the world.
It is spread in highest square mile area than any city of USA.
New York city inlcuding its suburbs has second highest number of Muslims from all Muslim countries.
Metropolitan city of Chicago including all its suburbs has the third
highest population of Muslims from all Muslim countries. .
Dearborn has more Arabic speaking families than any other city of USA. There are no significant number of non-Arabic speaking Muslims in Dearborn.
Sorry to hijack the thread. I'd rather talk about beautiful places anyday because hiking is my #1 hobby with photography a close second. Anyone ever hiked in Cape Disappointment WA? It's definitely not disappointing. Looks like the rain forests in Hawaii.
