Since we are on the topic of hip and diversity....
That song I posted "shadow" is straight pop - old school. It is from the same session I posted "you made your bed" it is my idea of hip. I care about my opinion of me. Basically nobody shares my ideas of what hip is. My opinion is that being rabidly diverse and able to pull off several styles convincingly makes me credible in my own mind. So Does doing every part AND doing it live. Very few people get it. Several of my friends here do. That is rewarding It's important to me to feel cool in my own mind though. This one makes me feel hip.

Well you're not the only one who thinks he's good so there must be something there I'm not seeing. I just always saw him as someone who got a leg up because his mother was famous.

On your recommendation I'll listen more carefully.....

I feel the same way Paul. Most of the stuff I really like, many people go 'eh, but what makes me feel good is when I go to their shows and I see other people who dig them as well. I like people and music that is a bit off, I tend to stray from mainstream music. When I listen to someone, I really get deep into what they're lyrics are saying or how they play their music, even if they can't quite express it well, I can feel them moreso than someone who spent a lot of money on their production.
