I don't even think anymore, I just let it flow.... it's fun...

There ya go, exactly what I was trying to get across. Decide what note I want to start on and let my fingers do the walking...

Oh, and if I make a mistake, hit a "sour" note, I just do it again and make it sound like I wanted it that way. Sometimes it still sucks, other times it turns it into a really good lead. I did it Saturday night in fact, nobody but me knew it was actually a completely wrong riff. I just went to something else then right back to the "wrong riff" and played it again the same as the first time. It came out sounding like it was intentional. Fortunately it worked that time.

Absolutely, Alan is spot on..

NEVER and I mean NEVER, admit a mistake during a performance, unless it's obvious and you have no choice.

The suckers have no idea that it was wrong. No need to let them in on the secret, unless you have no choice and IT WAS THAT BAD.

The problem lies in the fact that someone might hear you do one of your regular tunes wrong and like it, next thing you know they want to know why you did it differently during a standard performance.

(oops) (shhh) (go away now) (waives hands SHOO) lol
