I'm a little worked up.

I apologize for being offensive.

You're all right, I shouldn't have even engaged in these discussions here.

Coming back was a mistake.

Good luck to everyone.

Go back to having fun.

Wouldn't this be better in the USA forum?

In any case - I'm yawning biggly here...say whatever you want, but this isn't a "general" issue, & ppl's personal fears over the overthrow of the gov't by Obama or Bush are getting tiresome, wherever you decide to post it.

No need to get mad & go, but really...do I need more of this after all I see on tv, or hear on talk radio, or read in the papers or o/l in my e-box from well-meaning folks who really want me to pay closer attention to the fall of whatever?

Dont get too frustrated Craig, I know where you are coming from but its all perspective, some would say the homeland security is a joke, there is way too much border to patrol, and no way to build a fence. No one really wants the immigrants gone, illegal or otherwise, because its all a part of how america functions...what we have here is issues that politicians use to incite our fears or frustrations when they need our votes, they do it every time and it leads to obsessive and dangerous fears and behaviors from those who take every thing to an extreme.

There is truth in the fact that the Muslim faith is made up mostly of people who are peace loving, however it is also true to say the quoran does say death to the infidel and kill non-believers and you will be rewarded...both are facts...but another fact is, if left unchecked, the radical islam will consume the peace lovers in numbers just as the radical believers influence their churches and eventually take them over and we are left with the religions of today.

Socialism is a good concept, greed prevents it from ever working in practice. Socialism itself is not evil and shouldn't be a term of fear. Politicians make you fear it by reminding you just how greedy politicians are and you still say, yeah, socialism is bad. They openly tell you, if you give us socialism, we'll abuse you under it so you don't want to give it to us. Perhaps they all need to be replaced.

Phil,

In 2 years time, I have come to care for many of the members here PERSONALLY. If I feel strongly about something threatening those friends, I feel conscience bound to speak up. Recently, the things I have known were coming, are intensifying. The time is very close. From diseases and natural disasters to global unrest and war. The foundation has already been laid. I prefer to be thought a fool, or even hated for arguing these beliefs publicly, rather than live with the fact that I didn't warn anyone.

BTW...

I understand your feeling of not wanting to hear bad news, but sometimes knowledge is the best defense you can hope for. The H1N1 pandemic is one such case. It affects younger children especially strongly, of which you have one, right?

New WHO figures now estimate that 1/3rd of the WORLD'S POPULATION will be infected with H1N1, because there is no natural defense against it, since it is a new virus. Many more deaths will also result, as compared to traditional flu. It is estimated that 15% or more of those contracting it, will need intensive care. This overburdens the health care system, and will likely result in huge effects economically, both for the additional costs of treating these people, as well as the lack of labor while they recover. If they do.

Mike,

Socialism is NOT a good idea, There are many numerous brands of socialism, but they tend to agree on the principle of equal compensation based on whatever VALUE is determined a certain amount of WORK to be worth.

The problem is that people are NOT equal. They do not WORK equally. They do not THINK equally. They are not EQUALLY creative. They are not EQUALLY productive. People are not generally rewarded for EXCELLING in a socialistic society. Why try harder, when you can make the same income doing the minimum? When personal drive is reduced, so too is the productivity and prosperity that generally comes from those individuals that are highly motivated.

Which socialist countries do you find that have a better standard of living than Americans?

Socialism is also considered a gateway drug to Communism. Marx himself believed that Socialism was a transformative step between Capitalism and Communism.

In a free society, one is primarily limited by his own motivations and work ethic. This seems more fair, and right, than a centralized government controlling ALL resources and economic means, and deciding what is in an individual's best interest, rather than leaving that choice to the individual.

Craig, I understand your need to remind us, & I can appreciate it.

Can you appreciate that there's only so much I can handle at a time?

We all are getting these warnings from too many sources for some of us not to start taking things a lil seriously, but then again...I gotta LIVE...day by day...moment by moment...& frankly, if that big rock falls from the sky, or my gov't decides one day out of the blue that it's gonna do something drastic, there ain't an effing thing I can do about it but lay low & hope for the best while I prepare for the worst...

In the meantime, you're sounding more & more like Chicken Little...& even if you're right & the sky DOES fall, what should we do but live life to its fullest, & show appreciation for the time that we have? No, I'm not a fatalist, but I'm getting to where I can't take any of it seriously anymore...it sounds too much like Y2K...

Keep in mind that all I ever wanted to be was an entertainer...not a world-shaper or a militianist or a soldier of god or anything but a singer/songwriter/musician/performer...THAT's why I'm here

I do understand that Phil. Really I do.

My wife is no different. She doesn't want to think about problems. Particularly the ones she can't do much about.

I just prefer to be forewarned if possible. I may handle things differently, or be better prepared if I have information beforehand.

But I am not a chicken little type personality. Y2K didn't bother me at all. I bought a bunch of water and 2 weeks of canned food, as a mild precaution for electricity going out or travel being restricted. I was more worried about PEOPLE freaking out than anything else. I suspected at the time that it was manufactured hype to enrich software companies selling supposed "fixes". And no, I didn't buy the software, which I knew was unecessary for modern personal computers.

yes keep everyone's God out of my free society government in EVERY way; 90% of all wars are religiously based!
the C.I.A. is the reason we're in this mess; I don't give a rat's ass about what other government's are doing until they try to do it here!
If the C.I.A. weren't out there Nation Building we wouldn't be spending exorbitant amounts of OUR MONEY propping up puppet government's!!!

Our Government is the biggest terrorist organization in the world with continuous "false flag" operation's world wide and have been since the 40's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like what Craig has to say. I agree with much of it. I do find my attention span and time constraints sometimes to short to read lengthy posts, but if anyone wishes to express their feelings about any issues, I say "Go for it!", if ya don't care for a subject that someone posts, then just let it go. There's room enough on the forum for anything and everything.

By the way, that reminds me, did those CERN guys ever discover that damn 'ol Higgs boson with their big 'ol large hadron collider? (I've been a bit busy of late and haven't been paying that much attention , so if any great fundamental discoveries have been made, please gimme a heads up.

I have heard the President saying something about the economy improving. 8)

also, this afternoon, we had to cut our Sunday afternoon picnic break by the pond short due to unusually chilly weather. CLIMATE CHANGE MUST BE OVER TOO! YIPPIE! :D

Things ain't so bad after all.

CraigMaxim wrote:MikeV,

NO THEY DON'T HAVE EVERY RIGHT!!!

That is the POINT!

The point is NOT that they are Muslims.

I have warned and warned and warned the religious right, that this is a LOSING proposition. Fighting the 10 Commandments being taken down from courtrooms, etc...

NO ONE IS FREE, UNLESS WE ARE ALL FREE.

when I said 'they have every right' I was not aware of the specific issue you are talking about (and still am not). You said they were fighting to change law to benefit their religion: that's a pretty wide open space and in and of itself isn't a bad thing. I do believe in separation of church and state. I do believe it would make our country more 'right' if we removed any religion from politics. I do believe in civil unions and that 'marriage' - if it is a term that we are defining as religious - s/b be removed from law.

Please, take the ten commandments out of courtrooms... but when I said they have every right I meant that they have the right to try to sway govt in any valid direction (via political process) that may or may not benefit their religion, but obviously that would not include introducing any sort of religion back into law. For instance, if they want tax exemption for muslim churches - that's fine because we give tax exemption to christian churches... (bad example cause neither should get it but you get my point). If they want women to wear veils - then that's a dif story.

CraigMaxim wrote:It is WRONG to support ANY religion through government intervention and laws, other than the EQUAL protection of their right to practice it.

GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT make allowances for religion, or what is happening will continue to happen, only surprise surprise, before long, it will not be favoring Christians all of a sudden, to the great dismay of the religious right.

When you put places to wash your feet in schools and courthouses, before long, you will be having them all remove their shoes, others eating mushrooms before court, and still more burning incense and sacrificing animals on the courthouse steps.

Where does it end?

ok, now I see the issue you speak of: places to wash your feet. NO I wouldn't support that. Feel free to wash your feet in a sink if you need to wash your feet. I think we agree completely, but such is often the case... that folks get misunderstood and misunderstand on the inet.

MikeV,

We are in agreement on every single point mentioned in your last post.

:-)

I've stated here before... Take the word MARRIAGE out of the law. Replace it with Civil Union so that NO ONE'S civil rights are being violated, and strong religious people don't have to get up in arms, because MARRIAGE would be a function of the CHURCH and not the STATE, which is as it should be.

I think this is as good a place as any to mention what I experienced this evening. I went fishing in Garnett, Kansas which is about 65 miles due south of the Kansas City metro area. I don't think the temperature was much above 70, perhaps didn't even reach 70 (where's global warming when you need it). Anyway, I was driving north on I-35 back home and there was this absolutely fantastic sky right ahead of us (I had my autisitic son with me). About 70% of the sky was crystal clear, deep blue. On the horizon to about 30% of the sky above the horizon was this bluish, purplish, grayish cloud bank. Underneath these clouds was this amazing bright pink and gold cloud formation that looked like a huge crown of a king. It was freaky stunning. I've never seen anything in the sky so beautiful. The contrast between this "crown" and the darker clouds above was breathtaking. I kept thinking all the way home what an absolutely beautiful world we live in. Then I get home and read this gloom and doom thread and I'm STILL thinking we live in an absolutely beautiful world. If we only took more time to look around and appreciate it...

Well, if you took a picture of it maybe that would be true. I don't live in Kansas City and it rained all day here. But thanks for trying!

LMAO! ;-)

If your job is so elemental that someone can come here with nothing, unable to speak the language, and take it from you: tuff sh*t moron. I don't want/need you in my country any more than them.
Do you know of anyone who has lost their job to an illegal? No one complains about illegal doctors immigrating here do they?

Mikey, living in Arizona would make you on the front-lines. I live in Vegas which is just a neighborhood over from you. Over the recent past years Vegas was the fastest growing city in the US. Being a woodworker in the construction field, believe me, I've been more on the front-line than you can imagine. J Haley too (construction worker in Texas).

Let me explain to you how offensive it is to me to hear someone call me a "moron" for having lost my job to illegal immigrants.

I have been considered an expert in the field of a few different fields of custom woodworking. During a time when I had 10-years of experience behind my resume, I was hired to run a shop. To be a forman, to build the high end projects, and train, and teach others how to do the work. I was making $22/hr and I was training rookies who were making $7/hr.

I would be handed a group of 2-3 workers a day to have as "helpers" and students of woodworking. Much to my demise, I was a kickass teacher. I taught them how to use all of the machinery properly, how to maintain them properly, and how to build the projects with precision.

Once they had reached a level the owners had considered "good enough", I was "let go" in favor of workers who were being paid minimum wage. But their reward wasn't all in vain. They did receive a $0.25 raise.

So you tell me.. Am I moron who doesn't know how to do the work?

Do you really "not want/need me in this Country"?

Mr. Mike for someone that claims to live on the front lines you sure are misinformed with your information. Illegals do vote and it is people like you in this country that are willing to look the other way and allow it. Also as a carpenter who has watched them come to this country and take jobs for the past 35 years I will tell you how they do it. First the sub-contractor is usually here legally he goes to the local illegal job seeking hangout, down here it is in front of local Home Depots and picks them up by the truckload to work in the home construction house farms (subdivisions) where the contractor pays them cash and of coarse they are supposed to pay taxes on that money but they don't because they don't give a sh*t about the U.S. then they send a large portion of the money they have made taking american jobs at wages americans can't afford to live under. Because we actually have to have things like cars and the INSURANCE to drive in them and health care oh but wait! Americans in the construction biz. can't afford health care because the price is driven up do to all the people that don't pay for it of which illegals are HUGE contributers to this problem. I have personally enjoyed all or most of your posts untill I read your comments in reaction to Craigs. It is obvious you are blind have your eye's closed and are unaffected by illegal immigration. There are lots of Americans that count on those jobs that illegals take but I guess your fellow Americans are all just Morons the way you see right. Because your so much smarter than everyone else. I have personally had conversations with contractors that are bringing illegals up from Mexico to build houses that will work for next to nothing it is unfair labor competition to americans. When all these morons get laid off guess who gets to help pay their health care and support them Mr. Genious you do. So keep looking the other way while the rest of america gets sucked dry by third world countries and one day it WILL affect you. The problem I have with Liberalism is that you guy's seem to care more about foreigners than you do your own countrymen and foreigners don't give a ratsass about the United States Of America its economy or the people that live here. They care only about what they can take from it back to their own country. So just hand it to them on a silver platter. let them mow your yard for $20.00 because your to damn lazy to do it yourself or let them build you a house that falls apart the first year you live in it. While your fellow countrymen starve without employment and pay taxes to support a counter culture. You have struck a nerve with me buddy after I read your post it pissed me off because you see I have fought like hell to survive in a country that I love at a career I love and have gotten damn good at in an unfair labor market where I AM THE MINOITY IN MY OWN DAMN COUNTRY.
