Well BM... I hope you watching. Cause they don't seem to mind making sure you don't make one red cent. The feedback I get from this site sucks. No real dialog or direction. No collaborations. They expect people to pay to meet you clowns! Wow. In the end, I still win.

You should take three steps back and re-think how you are communicating and performing your work......like a musician would do. If you continue with your BS, of course you will get nothing going.

I suggest you find a producer and PR person to screw your head on right.

I listened to your song/jam. There are some sound drop-outs/noises in the first half, sounds like you may be having buffer problems in your DAW. So its you playing jazz chords to a drum machine, with some added keyboard-done leads (first one - synth is way too low in the mix).
I see your profile first says you're now looking for a band, although underneath it says you are still 'auditioning' players and singers. What happened to the great 'band' you were almost READY to debut?

@rgmixproject
I never said I had a problem getting musicians, its BM and how its set up. I haven't seen any growth here...just alot of opinionated blowhards expressing their inner child. Since we're making suggestions...you my try learning how to mic your set. That collab with dayne...distortions on your boom make the whole piece sloppy. Better luck next time.

@guitarmikeb
What you're hearing is me and the jasir studio band jazz jamming. They got me for now, but you should know there's no such thing as a set band. Players come and go in this biz. A seasoned musician would know that..but to answer your question, I have a band, we're rehearsing now and I'm looking to add new members AND I'm also available to jam with other bands who need a good key guy. Congrads by the way on your new album release. Send my a copy...I may even like it. lol

hey memphis1, that is me screwing up that piece ..not RGMix, that is me! .. I will be scrapping that too when the new Cm7 blues/jazz piece gets another track or two added.. and I won't be using a DR-05 which is the gear causing low-fidelity issues..it ain't RGMIX but me causing the BOOM.. but I sorta like your tunes, I guess I'm odd man out.. :D

go ahead, I'm at a point in life, where I am aware my delusions of grandeur making a fortune in the music industry is null and void, I would probably get more joy out of seeing somebody appreciate a tune (even if arranged) I had some input into creating, using it or displaying it where others might get a tad bit of enjoyment from, so you go right ahead and get it out there to the masses.. :D

Here, like everywhere else in life...you get what you give. When you initially showed up you were given plenty of good advice....."put up some music", "explain what genre(s) you play and are looking to do", "share a photo or video", it was explained to you that not many musicians (likely few in your area) frequent the forum....etc, etc.

And you responded w attitude and insults.

And now...what....a yr later you're still looking for people who want to sign on to play with you? Is that a surprise to anyone?

Your participation on this FORUM has been nothing but you blowing your own horn bragging about your "readiness". Have you participated in even one music discussion, even one thread that didn't have to do w yourself?

You're bitching about the lack of feedback for your tune???? Really? when was the last time YOU weighed in on someone else's music here? Oh, that's right....never.

And "collaborations"? There have been plenty here.....get your head out your arse long enough to recognize that. Perhaps if you participated in a thread other than your own you would have noticed.

Here's my feedback on your tune...I'd not said anything earlier because I had nothing positive to say. But you want feedback so here it is....

like Mike pointed out, the recording/mix/production is very poor. Weak levels, dropouts....it has no sparkle or sizzle, and sounds like it was recorded w a 1980's Panasonic cassette deck w a cheap mic.

But it also sounds like it was recorded (sequenced) on a cheesey 1990 Casio "band in a box" $100 keyboard workstation. I know you mention you're into "neo soul", but dude....those sounds on the recording just sound dated and old to me. It sounds like some sad lounge lizard wearing a polyester leisure suit w big collars in a Holiday Inn circa 1978.

The actual playing...competent, but what is it? jazz? no. soul? no. It just lays there like elevator music w no hooks, nothing terribly interesting going on rhythmically (drum machine drone), and it never really develops or goes anywhere to generate interest and get something going.

If you did this in an actual studio.....i'd say you need find another studio. STAT.

hey, sorry for the tough love...but you asked for feedback.

Wow. In the end, I still win.

And there you have it again...that spoiled brat pissy countenance.. What is it you believe you've "won"? You still can't field a team of musicians who want to work w you after a year of trying? In a BIG market like Memphis? Still not out there gigging....when so clearly you want it?

That's not MY definition of a winner. That's not MY definition of anyone who's "ready".

The funny thing is...as much as you want to look down your nose at the members here....we're a pretty forgiving bunch and I've no doubt that if you made a few slight adjustments in your attitude, approach, and if actually started to participate as member who contributes some music conversation besides your own backslapping and recruiting.....that you'd be welcomed here by all.

Doesn't sound like a band to me, no -feeding back and forth like you get from real players making real jazz (or whatever 'neojazz' is). And if you think 'there's no such thing as a set band' you really do not have any clue.
You can buy my album, like anyone else, at the links in the other thread.

Aw C'mon Mike.... you're not gonna send him a free copy and pay for the shipping as well?????

As for "set bands" .... I play in three of them:

Planet Jazz: myself, drummer, saxman together 24 yrs... "new" bassplayer w us 5 yrs

MERE MORTALS Bluegrass Band: myself, banjo man, gtrst together 10 yrs .... fiddle gal is new kid on the block w 5 yrs in

THE 121's (Trkstop band) been together 4 1/2 yrs same personel.

People are lucky when they have ONE group of good players/good peeps.... I've got THREE who put up w my dumbass!

I'm lucky, but you know what.... It's more than luck. And it's more than being able to play at a certain level of proficiency..... It's also about attitude and how you treat and conduct yourself w others.

Where'd you learn your PR, holding "Feed Me" signs under a highway. Looks pretty desperate to me. I don't buy from NEW artists. Saves me money and time. I don't know you, so I don't owe you. lmao.

@Planetguy
Make up your mind would ya? lol I mean its like watching a little boy piss in a corner. You know better. Focus on the positive for now. We could do more together than we ever could alone.

I'm happy as a clam and perfectly content supporting myself playing different types of music that I enjoy w good folks. I've got nuthin' to bellyache about! 6 gigs this week last night thru Sat.

LIFE IS GOOD! and trust me....i NEVER take it for granted.

But hey.. . Don't let ME stop you from patting yourself on your back and declaring YOURSELF the "winner"!
