I'm on my way to Texas, though not happily (personal circumstances prevail), not after all I have read about the water issues in that state.

The Trinity aquifer is 550' below normal. Drilling a well in north central Texas now costs $42 a foot (according to someone who sees it done regularly in his business), and they are going 1100 -1200 feet to get good water. That is insane.

You can't keep inviting people in when your water tables cannot handle it.

This guy, in his 40s, said in his lifetime water is going to become such a serious issue it will devastate Texas.

Freedoms are good, but water a lot more important.

Drums, that depends on where you go in Texas. Along the Texas upper Gulf Coast we will never run out of water. There is plenty. Our water is surface water that winds up in Lake Houston. Basically they built damns that build up HUGE reserves of water. Now having said that I would bath, wash my truck, water my lawn, but only drink water that has been treated through a filter!

You saying the water is funky ?

Smells like old gym socks and tastes a bit on the bitter side? YIKES.

BRITA to the rescue.. lol I used to sell water filtering supplies.
Hmmm, wonder if that could be an angle to explore down there...

I have drank this Lake Houston water so long it taste normal to me! When I go to other places there water taste funky LOL! Water filtration is BIG business here Cap'n! Now when you get out in Central Texas, that water comes from the Edwards aquifer. It has been filtered by nature and that sh!t is GOOoood.

Agreed I never met an aquifer I didn't like the taste of.

"you can't improve upon nature".
