Rumors out of London say Jimmi Page is planning to record a CD and tour under the name Led Zeppeling. Robert Plant has decided not to partake in this project, a search for a singer is on the way names being tossed are Chris Cornel and Steve Tyler.

There have been a lot of Plant imitators the people in the videos do it best IMO.

Who is your pick?

That german guy from that Kingdom Come band.
You know that late 80's song 'get it on'.
Sounds just like him.

well Cris Cornell is one of the few well known singers that could pull it off.
even though he stated at the rose parade a few years ago that he had proven that he was a better singer than Robert Plant, and I dont think he's worthy of the Robert Plant's toe jam! he would be the best pick IMO.

I love Tyler's older vocal (because he actually felt it then) but I dont see him doing well with Zepplin material.

Since it's going to be a new project, I don't think the singer sounding like plant will mean too much. Look at how hagar successfully took over VH..

I don't care much for Tyler or Cornell for that part, not sure why, just doesn't feel right. I'd rather see Vetter or even Grohl take the job. I know, odd choices.

I think Page's plans are more than rumor - I heard it on the news a week or two ago, and they reported it as if it were fact.

When I got Soundgardens Louder Than Love CD years ago, I remember thinking this is one of the few guys who I think could fill Plants shoes.

I would love to hear some original music with Page and Cornell on it whether its called Zep or PumperNickle! If we could get Flea and Chad Smith to play with them, that would be an awesome band.

Holy cow I never heard this German band, I searched you tube, the singer does sound a lot like Plant but like Kramer said it's not clear if Page intends to sound like Zeppelin of old or take a new direction.

No John Bonham and no Robert Plant means they shouldn't try and duplicate Led Zeppelin in any way, shape or form. In this case Page would be better off (IMO) starting a brand new band with a brand new sound. Whatever reincarnation they come up with will be a lame recreation of Zeppelin.

I got to agree with Bob here guys. The Zep died with John.
These are awsome musicians. But as I have alluded to before. A room full of awsome talent does not make a band.
There is an chemestry that is required.

Amen to that Chemistry the most important element in a band or relation.

Don't embarass another drummer by comparing him to John Bonham.

I think Page decided to keep the name because he wanted to still perform the Zep classics, while bringing in new material. Makes sense, otherwise, he ends up being in a tribute/cover band of himself.

I'm thinking of changing our band name to angler ron & The Blue Marlin band, a fisherman bob & The Bluefin Tuna Tribute Band. Therefore we could be a tribute band of ourselves. True self indulgence!
