Finally this election has ended, for nearly two years my brain has been bombarded by the boobtube every time I turned the TV on, I guess is a small price to pay when considering that some countries have to resort to bullets rather then ballots in order to change leadership.
I make a prediction, this new administration will do better then the last one, it won’t be hard to, do due to the bar being set so low by Bush in the last eight years.
Democrats have swept this election taking the White House and gaining the majority in the Senate, I just hope they use this supremacy wisely.
Republicans can take solace in the knowledge that even though they have lost the election Conservatism ideals are not defeated; proven by the fact that many Republicans have distanced themselves including Mc Cain from Bush, some have done so for political expediency, most have rebuked Bush for betraying those Ideals.
For the first time in my voting life cynicism has been replaced by hope, this guy Obama is an inspiring figure, hopefully he won’t turn into a Mr. Hide.
But the real winners are America and democracy judging the reaction around the world it can be interpreted only in one way, America is regaining the moral high ground once again, where else in a Western Democracy can an African American be elected to the most powerful position in the free world? Only in the USA. The result of this election IMO is going to inspire our allies and admirers and morally disarm detractors and foes.
Like Obama said: The strength of America is measured not by its wealth or military power but rather by its values.
Now I can go back to write and play music I got a feeling is going to be happy music, I just hope I’m not jumpimg the gun here.
