Hey all,

Just thinking out loud here. so please indulge me.

I use my Home Mac computer to record my thoughts, ideas on originals. I basically plug Guitars, Bass, Vocals, et.al into a Behringer Eurorack UB802 mixer, then plug that into the computer. I know its not Pro Tools, so it is what it is. You can check out some of what I've done.

Anyone else familiar with GarageBand? - If so, here my thought. Would anyone be interested in creating music via email? So, In other words (for sample sake): I would record a scratch track of me playing guitar and singing, then send that file to say, a bass player, who in turn would lay down the Bass - and so on..... any order could/would work.

My only thinking here would be some cats would not like their work out there unprotected. Understood.

Anyway, hope this makes sense. Let me know.

Pug,
I surmise that its been done. It's a great concept.Im still way behind most of you folks in the analog to digital department, and presently have to many time constraints to actively participate in such an endeavor ,but I would like to hear more imput on the idea.

P.S.....just listened to your work.May I suggest you hook up with Wegman, find a good live rythem section, and Illinoise may just become the new millenium, new world Liverpool! ....good stuff.

Pug,

This is actually pretty common this day an age. I worked with a drummer for a year doing this. Nothing came out of it worth posting but we tried.

I am working with another friend of mine doing the same thing. He is still getting his technical act together but we have shared files back and forth. There are some musician collaboration web sites that you can do this very thing.

Like I said pretty common and easy to do.

Hey there Howlin & Wegman, thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it - Like I said, I'm a novice at best - so...... Just love the music thingy! Big Brit Rock fan - I guess it really shows!

Anyway, agreed, I'm pretty sure it's not a new concept. Just hearing some of the talent on this site made me think. WoW!!! what if???

Also, just so were all clear - the songs on the site would not be up for consideration, I would create new ones. Savy.

So, the door is open to anyone who'd be interested. Of course i would be willing to send out the first sample track .

Peace to all

Yes it is common and fun. A good start is a drummer and another instrument (bass, keys, guitar etc.). That keeps the natural feel while increasing the chances of a solid rhythm. Email it away and go from there. I've heard some great sounding tracks from garage band.

Interesting nickname. It is a slight variation of the Irish Gaelic "pog ma hon" which means "kiss my ass".

Irminsul

Yes that is correct on the name. I'm Irish, It has been a nickname of mine for some years now. So, not to be viewed as a Statement to others - just my silly nickname.

Opps, let me be more clear

Born there, then moved to US at a very early age.

So I should have said Irish-American. My immediate family still lives just outside Dublin in Blackrock. Attended school in Finglass as a 5 yo.
Don't even carry the accent anymore or so I'm told.
Peace

Very good.

Yeah, I have family in Santry, Ballymun, Finglass, Whitehall & Blackrock.
I was just there in November and spent some time down in Ardmore.

2 years ago I had a Guinness with Bertie Ahern at Fagan's Pub on Drumcondra Road. Nice enough guy.

Anyway, I like your music. Good stuff.

Happy Holidays

Send it as a mp3. It still can be mixed into a song.
