':?' I guess the question is, should I even be here? I don't wish to waste my time nor anyone else's. So..... if someone could throw me a bone as to the direction I should be traveling, I would be most grateful! I'm feeling like a stranger in a strange land here, which is "my bad" I'm sure. Watch the tutorial? ......... Right! If I should have to jump trough some hoops just to "fit in" I think I'll be jumping on the old delete button instead. I don't mean to sound crass, but I smell a clique! Give me both barrels if I'm way out of line here. It would be far better than jack sh*t. It's bad enough being a "newbe" as it is!

Sincerely

Ax

Can you be more specific?

Basically if some one posts something of interest to the forum community at large a discussion gets started. If not, the thread just kind of dies. IF you expect some one to respond to every post you make, that is not going to happen.

If you expect everyone to agree with or be civil with you on here at all times, then you are in the wrong the place. Some posters are more inflammatory then others. Some you just have to get know and realize that is their personality. Some look for points of debate.

My rude awakening was when I first came on this board and I was getting into major debates/arguments with fellow musicians. I never thought that would happen since I thought we had a common ground and thought some what the same way because of it. How wrong I was.

Lighten up guy and just get in and speak your mind however, be prepared if some one strongly disagrees with your view since there is no harm in that since that is how we learn.

Go where no man has gone before!!!!

If you don't like what people say, ignore them.

Speak your mind.

Don't hold back. lol

To live inside the box is boring. I know I enjoy reading what everyone has to say, even if I don't agree.

What is that line from "Max Ehrmann's Desiderata"?

I think it goes, "Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story".

Thanks guys, I appreciate your taking the time to show me the ropes, or was that pull my head out of my arse? I'm a member of both MacJams and iComposition and even though their quite similar in many respects, there our some major differences. It seems this place is ran on mutual respect, "you get what you give" and vise versa. "And listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant: they too have a story" Well then, I shall fit in just fine indeed. (};-P)

Patience is not one of my strong suits, unfortunately. And as far as sarcasms concerned...... bring it on!!! I look foreword to getting to know all you in the days ahead. Thanks for giving a rats fanny.

Why on earth would you try to fit in? The best stuff that happens here is a result of our uniquenesses.

(uniquenesses....good lord, is that even a word?)

Essentially, it's a great place to learn some stuff once you weed out who knows their stuff in their respective areas.

And remember that most here talk to one another on a crude & blunt level that rarely would happen in "real" life.

other than that....welcome!

:D

LOL You think so Celtic?

I hate to inform you there is very little difference between live and memorex here, Celtic. At least as far as this model thinks, speaks and does.

I Robot, have come to inform you what I think. lol Take me to your leader, whatever her name is. LOL

Is it Hillary? (grinding of gears) lol

Hope that some of these posts helped. Not sure what you meant in the first place by not fitting in.

First, we're all musicians, so that makes us different from the normal person on the street anyway.

Second, I'm pretty new here and from what I've seen on this place there are viewpoints from all over the map. There are full time musicians to part time players, so opinons are infinite.

Third, it's the net, every board or chat or forum you go to will be just as multi-faceted, so this one is hardly different.

We all have a few things in common, right? We all like good food, right? We all like a good drink, right? We all like good sex, right? We all like good music, right? I'm sure the vast majority would answer to these questions in the affirmative, therefore the vast majority of us are THE SAME, right? Therefore we ALL FIT IN, right? Later...
