In February I'll be cruising HWY 1 from San Diego to Portland in a Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. When I hit the beaches of Monterey with the top down.........this song will be playing.

Thanks.....love cruising songs and this is great.

if it were not through your kindness and unselfishness in providing those free drum tracks for us, I ight never have understood the importance of percussion and a bass line when recording for the most part..yeah "Twin House" by Larry Coryell and Philip Catherine which is one of my favorite albums did not have much for bass lines or percussion but it was an exception to the rule in my opinion.. thanks.. :)

yep, percussion is the foundation and without a foundation it is damn hard to build something that will last.. I will keep on doing this because I am less than 11 months away before I can file for Social Security at 62 and said, why work, when you can drop dead any minute at this age.. might as well weite music and maybe it could eventually pan out in some way, either n by others saying I would not mind doing that guys music maybe I should contact him, smaller chance of selling it on bandcamp, but Mike has convinced me bandcamp is the way to do it. get micropayments set up at paypal and a few of the better tracks and good to go.. maybe a guy wont sell a thingn Bill Gates might like one and tip ya $100,000.00.. just kiddin'

Cool, Dane,

If you don't mind a suggestion .... If you would pan the guitars slightly one to the left and one to the right a bit it might give it a fatter stereo sound. Nice to see you are keeping busy recording. I really need to do that as soon as I get some fingernails again. I keep writing lyrics but not doing anything with them.

"what happened to your fingernails Slacker? "

I don't think I drink a enough water in the winter and they get brittle and they chip and crack to the point where they are useless. Then I just cut them all off. I can play without them but I miss the sharp attack. I'm not fond of plain water filled with crap and I don't want to buy bottled water also filled with crap that comes out of a tap in a lot of cases.

thanks schmed, you are being too gracious, but thanks, I wish I could get the right formula but will keep trying,

@ Slacker
hardest part I have is lyrics, and here you are with tons of them :D

I am trying to fit these "words" into some music this morning, had to get away from it, driving me crazy..

Have you not taken the time
to look deep inside your mind
see things that are not straight
the damaged parts and pieces
that need cut out
nobody's fool and glad you have found
a better world but not for you
cause you have better things to do
the journey never ends
although life sometimes tends
to get a bit scary
sitting here giving you a listen
bout how I did you wrong
with no money for rent
you keep losing your mind
you are hell bent .... FINIS

ya see I can't do lyrics..

Dane,

I always begin with one lyric line from something that inspires me. And then I put a melody to that line right off the top. The following lines are synced to the melody of the first unless it is one of those songs that simply rambles on and on. Even for those I come up with the melody very early on in the song.

Sometimes the song takes on a life of it's own. Quite often I need to tweak the lyrics slightly tor improve them to make things jell. I save all the changes in the lyrics from beginning to end in case I get sidetracked and wander too far from my original idea.

You might try that. to see if it works for you.

the check is in the mail.. I am shooting for a real abstract approach.. when I say abstract, I am thinking of The Doors "Strange Days" or Jimi Hendrix " Axis Bold As Love" type lyrics that make sense only when somebody comes to their own conclusion as to the meaning of what the lyric meant.... I want to become more realistic though and straight forward..that is my goal, to become realistic :D ..
