I am shooting for a Pharoah Sanders meets smooth jazz with a tad of Caribbean ? Latin crossover flavoring, so the B.C. Rich Pro-X is the go to axe for now.. :D    :!:

you and planetguy have me confused as to what passes as smooth jazz?.. not a fan of Kenny G, but love Boney James for the most part.. loves Lee Ritenour Festival album but is it really smooth jazz? don't think so but it's hybridized with some smooth jazz flavoring?.. I will take any smooth jazz over Air Supply.. any day :D

I am really digging "Stepping Stone" .. I had been fiddle farting with the Ableston recording software starting around 5 PM yesterday evening, and although Sir Jamsalot stressed the importance of the delete button on his thread, it was so obvious, that after around 6-1/2 hours of recording was deleted with great joy, I was in a rut and somehow when i started last night I had great expectations with this riff I had spawned in my brain, but no way could I come up with harmonic embellishment even after analyzing the notes, tried 2 or 3 different runs at 2 or three "ideas" but it was disgusting sounding.. delete button city in good order.. :D and then finally around 11:30 PM I tried a riff with a benguine? like rhythm feel.. and then started building layers, and Stepping Stone was born..the 1st version of Stepping Stone was deleted after the current version was born, then version#1 was deleted.. it is mystical sounding but think it might still be a tad too busy.but it just might be the most mystical sounding track I have ever developed. it will grow on you, I guarantee it.. it has a soul.. :D .. but version # 3 is not out of the question and this version# 2 dies off..

I assume then you think "Stepping Stone" has a smooth jazz flavor?.. and it's not that I don't mind people critiquing tunes, it was just that I am not posting tunes asking for critiques.. that post a few days ago I made might have sounded harsh, and that I don't want critiques.. no, it's just that I am not asking for them ..
what was the name of that dance from the 1950's where the people would line up and hold the person's' waist in front of them and they would basically line dance around the room with a Latin flavored beat? that is sort of like the beat on Stepping Stone? but bastardized somewhat? :D
