I have a new track on my player.
FM eyes. A friend wrote it 16 years ago. I've been threatening to cover it since. Finally did.

Yeah as always nice job NP. Has a 70's nostalgic feel to me.
Only other thought is to bring the rhythm git up a bit in the mix. Just a personal preference.

Thanks! I've heard 50's and 60's so far. Now the 70's. Ironically after completion the rhythm guitar reminded me of the 80's song "true" by spandau ballet.
I'm really curious about your thoughts on the rhythm git level. I was actually considering taking it down one click. Are we talking about the staccato, distorted guitar that is doubled and fully panned left and right? It is played on the up beat with the snare.

Well thanks man! It's recorded on my fostex 16 track digital standalone. I record on it, record each track onto a cd, open each track into audacity, and edit to my hearts content.

Your Fostex doesn't have USB connectivity to transfer the files? The way you are doing it, you are converting from digital to audio (to digital on the CD) - an extra double-generation A-to-D loss - for each track unless you are somehow putting the raw files on the CD, not the converted-to-audio music.

Audacity is very limited for a DAW, you should try out Reaper - free to download, just pay $60 if/when you want to register it.

No need for new tools. If only all of our tracks sounded so good. Determination and talent trumps technology once again!

Yeah, but your machine is converting it's internal file format to audio as WAV. Probably not much of a 'generational' loss there, though. Looks like the Fostex only has ADAT optical output, so you'd need an interface that would convert that to digital, not much use in doing that.
