I've been updating the info on our web pages everywhere.
Our biography section on Facebook is probably too long.
Too much information, maybe?
I'll have to make more edits and whittle it down a bit.
But, this is what I've got so far, if anyone is interested.

Later,

Way Way too long and its all over the map.... Might I suggest the following:

Look up a really big celebrity on Wikipedia and then a not so big celebrity on the same site. Note the content and how they lay it out.

Or

Consider this:

P1: Who you and the other mates are

P2: Past Projects (Hilights only, and keep it to important stuff only)

P3: Current Project (Brief...This keeps the reader coming back to check your status)

p4: Future Projects... (Only the stuff you intend to follow through with.)

Update twice a month

:)

Thanks.
I'm trying to condense it down to just a few paragraphs.

I broke it up a bit into different sections and condensed some of the rest.
I hope that makes a difference.

I only made it through the first 3 sections. Your average toady has an attention span of 10% of mine ....

You've got to grab people from the get-go.

Purpose
Meaning

Save the big words and history details for an in-depth biography page.

Mike Nobody & the Island of Misfit Noise is a Detroit avant garde/experimental punk rock band and visual arts ensemble with an ever-changing lineup and name. The band was officially formed in 1998
with the addition of MarshaKat, although some date the band to homebuilt guitars and bedroom tape experiments from 1985. The core duo, formerly of N-2 Submission (improvisational backing band for The Impaler: Detroit’s Vampire Poet), have been the only constant members.
They are noted for their constant evolution, self-conscious diversity, surreal sense of humor, disregard for conventional music composition, and the theatrical spectacle of their live performances. Their live act could almost qualify as performance art, involving film and animation collages, (projected behind them on giant screens) . [b]Their music incorporates both traditional musical elements and "found" sounds (as in musique concrete), often heavily manipulated with recording studio electronics. Experimental and psychedelic in nature, the visuals have added to the reputation of their live performances.
Front man Mike Nobody & Guitarist MarshaKat met in 1997, while performing together with an S&M themed improvisational band named N-2 Submission. Later, they formed their own band , the current core of The Island of Misfit Noise. Classically trained in composition while in college, MarshaKat was able to rework arrangements of songs, and tweak sounds, and helped to refine Mike Nobody's experimental -song ideas. This proved crucial to the new collaboration. They are currently involved with multiple collaborators. Live performances are very rare, but the band keeps writing and recording music. The band has never had, nor have they seemed to pursue, strong mainstream success.

The above describes your band ad general trajectory...

Now do succinct bio on yourself, , and then one on Marshakat...and then on anybody else you want. Each bio should warrant its own topic titles. Keep them very short.

Thanks.

I've made more deletions and further rearranging.

Geez, if people's attention span is this short they may not like our music anyway.

Naw dude, your stuff is prolly pretty spell binding at a lot of the venues that host it... But No matter the genre, style, event..you name it.. There's a standard press kit approach so That john Q public can digest it and make their choices..

Typically, Less is more, and everything you want to parlay is workable, just gotta arrange/format it in the right way... Even Buffalo Bill knows to put on his pants over his head or his socks over his shoes ;)

You know I wrote for a music publication, right?
I often dealt with some pretty unusually big press kits.

I've transplanted the revised biography & description to our Bandmix profile.

I've been getting more requests to hear our music lately, since doing this housecleaning.

I'm really annoyed at myself for not having more recent recordings ready.

Unfortunately, I've had to use the "dog ate my homework" excuse.
A hacker destroyed our studio hard drive.
The drive has been replaced.
But, the OS won't boot.
I've been downloading a new crack, but don't have any blanks to make a boot disc.
It is always SOMETHING.

Marsha's D&D buddy keeps coming over lately, and that is a big distraction too.

Anyway, I am currently digging through our jam tapes and working on new material.
I dunno when we will be finished.
Hopefully, we will have enough of a set ready to play out by the Spring or early Summer.
