Uhhh - Dizz? Fox News? Jeeze that gets old.
I don't even own a TV. But by making that comment you're telling me a) you get your news from some other TV news channel, and b) assume everyone does.
You might be surprised to know that most conservo-libertarians that I know hate Fox as much as anyone else. They are all the Pravda of these age - missing it on every key issue. Doing as little work as possible and passing on Govt agitprop and pretending their 'hard working' reporters scooped it some how. Yet every news channel plays the same talking points as the others.
Because Fox will actually print a useful / truthful story once in a blue moon does not make them 'conservative.'
I saw how the govt pigs were gonna play this years ago so I wasn't too caught off guard. Recently I have been to every gun store in town (Atlanta!) to get ammo and there ain't much.
The military rifles are gone. I talked to a musician probably in his fifties at one such store. He was buying a pistol and signing up for training. Said he'd never owned a gun in his life. But he reckoned 'those scum' in DC were fixing to phuq us and I reckon he's right.
The two million plus people who bought 'black rifles' over a two to three week period are not a bunch of lame brains. Here is what they see:
In towns like Chicago and NY where there is max gun control - crime is out of control, and you cannot protect yourself. The govt has opened to borders to the drug cartels, who are armed to the teeth; and play cosy with some of the bigger inner city gangs, who are armed to the teeth.
But they want us unarmed? Think about that.

I tried to watch FOX news and even drunk it's easy to tell that they lie harder and faster than the rest.

Wrong again. It's not just Atlanta that has bare shelves - it's nationwide. And if you talk to the dealers, instead of just forming opinions out of your personal prejudices you'll find that virtually ALL military style weapons and ammo are back ordered and unlikely to be available in any quantity for a while.
And that freak in the white house announced publically that he plans to impement gun control via Executive Order (so his satraps in the congress don't have to annoy their constituants.)
Oh - that's illegal?! Un huh.... You bet. But watch it happen.
So you are batting zero so far.

mike, are you suggesting THAT's why crime rates are so high there? think about it...how strict were those cities gun regs back in the 20's, 30's, 40's. etc???? face it...they didn't become high crime rate cities after stiffer gun regs came about.
seems the current and most popular argument for gun control isn't that it's gonna reduce day to day street crime (though an argument can be made in that regard) but that it might help prevent more mass shootings.
yeah, there's the argument that if more good citizens had guns, then incidents like aurora and sandy hook could be prevented. hogwash.
tell ya what... a whackjob w a cpl of automatic weapons can mow down a whole lot of people from the back of a movie theatre before anyone even knows what's going on.
i'd rather try to keep weapons like that out of the wack-o's hands in the first place. that's my answer to how we can try to reduce incidents like that.
having everyone in the theatre carrying a concealed weapon to protect themselves is just gonna lead to more murders when some dumbass gets a call of their cell phone. or because the guy behind us is talking during the movie, coughing too loud, or making too much noise w their candy wrapper!

I always laugh at people who think these massacres could be prevented if only weapons were allowed in these gun-free zones. It's not a coincidence that gun owners are more likely to die as a result of gunfire than non-owners.
Gee Jimmy, you sound like you are sure..
How could that be? Do you own a gun?
Oh ok, now I get it..you're one of the gun toting whackos..
(Welcome to the club, the water is warm...come on in but please wear a bathing suit) lol

That is simply NOT TRUE. Unless you want to count all the illegal gun owners, mostly known as criminals....
The sad reality Jimmy is the society you applaud is developing way too many sick people, and the easy fix is to blame guns. I don't feel like getting into a screaming match with you. Your idealistic society created a mental misfit that saw no hope for his future, and on top of that, a mother that had NO PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY to help her son. Then she further showed NO PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY as a GUN OWNER.
This is a horrific incident, no argument, 20 babies DEAD. EXTREMELY SAD!
DO you have any idea how many babies died when hitler walked through western Poland at the start of WW2.
America is supposed to be the land where the individual can succeed. More and more I see the young people seeing their future coming down to everything that goes against American values.
I blame your vision of American society for the death of those 20 babies Jimmy. NOT GUNS!
Don't argue with a stupid person. They will pull you down to their level... And beat you with experience..."Samuel Langhorne Clemens"
<Spinning> There is no evidence to suggest that video games and violent movies actually cause people to shoot people. But I will concede...If I 'had' possession of a gun, I'd be hard pressed to Not want to shoot it... after all why else would I own one?
So, I'm suggesting that possessing a weapon leads to more potential mistakes and tragedies than not possessing one.
Parallell...
Things you would do if it were there...
- A bus load of hot women invites you to hop on board...
- An Ice Cream truck offers free ice cream.
- There is a doobie on the mantlle over the fireplace.
- A bottle of whisky named "gentleman jack" sits beside the holy bible...
-A hot chick stands next to your Gibson. She wants sex, and there's a promoter outside with a lucrative contract...Both give you 2 minutes to make a decision either or
- a burglar enters your house and the police are 2 minutes away... Your gun is in the nightstand...
When it comes down to it, we face decisions. Merely having access to these opportunities is not enough...
There is context. The government cannot possibly ascertain the context of anybody who purchases a weapon. (Until after the fact) . It tries to impose a 'Minority report" logic , based on so called experts, who pretend like they can predict human behaviors. The funny part is they can predict some of it... But its a risky prop to legislate around that.
If all murderers used red bricks to kill their victims, would we ban red bricks? Its really about murderers, not the tools they use.

The one thing I can absolutely guarantee is that had i been at Sandy Hook there would have been a lot less casualties. That''s not bragging - i don't see anything brag-worthy about it. Just a statement of fact.
Three times in my life I've drawn a pistol to protect myself or someone else (not counting war). Three times that solved the problem without gunfire. but if it takes gunfire - oh well.
I could care less about bad guy casualties. A citizen of a free Republic should manfully step up to the duty of protecting those who need protecting: the weak, the old, the children, the women. The cops don't do it. Even if they were brave like on tv, they couldn't do it. they are not there. (after Columbine the question of are the police brave was resolved once and for all. NOT)
When we lost our willingness to put it on the line to protect ourselves and others is when we sold our souls to the govt. Which was ludicrously pathetic - we'd have done better to engage the mafia! Who at least do protect you when they say they will!
how's Rahm Emmanual doing protecting people in Chicago? not so good eh? Must need more gun control....
