Jim Bowie fought a duel with a dude on a log in a fast flowing river. They tied their left arms together and fought with knives. Bowie was considerd the winner because he survived....barely. But after that, folks were real poilite to Jim Bowie.

ps Our own president Andrew Jackson had two (or was it three) bullets in his body from duels and flat out gunfights when he finally died of old age. I dislike the bastard for what he did to the Cherokee, but you got to respect him for backing up his play...
