You look GREAT Mike. Cool pics.
See you ain't getting older, just having more people messing with the sound.
Do it again just with some new experience you just gained.
Thanks for sharing Mike. 8)

Back to regular rehearsals for the foreseeable future, until we have 3 sets of songs down.
We also talked about hiring a soundman for paying gigs. Or even someone with a full system, if the gig pays enough.

Mike,

Great pics! I think everyone would be seen better if they weren't wearing black against a black, back curtain.....

It will look really cool when you all get your "mop tops" and matching suits....LOL!!! Make sure you post those pics!!! LOL!!

Nice pics BUT a lot of eyes closed, looking down. Maybe just a coincidence but LOOK at the cameras, look at the audience. Musicians that don't look at the audience much or at all look self- absorbed to me.

Tammy - no wigs or costumes are forthcoming! We're all about the music, not the look.

The lights were atrocious in this community tv studio - believe it or not, my shirt was green and the backdrop is dark blue!

Bob - these screen caps were done from the best 'in focus' shots I could stop the DVD at. We could barely see the audience or cameras in the dark side of the room - it was like playing to a black wall. When I play on a stage with bright lights from above/front I usually wear sunglasses, as otherwise I am squinting to see anything.

If nothing else, it was a good learning experience.
Thanks for the comments.

I've been accused of not smiling. Sometimes my smile is hidden under my mustache when I'm performing. Smiling and looking like you're having a good time on stage EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT is important. It's something perhaps I need to work on.

Very true. I think I mentioned in the other thread that after the tv show, the bass player's wife told me that I looked like the only enjoying myself up there - and I did, and I was! The bass player's forced smile looked just that - forced. Everyone else looked tense.

Music is supposed to be fun. At least that's what an audience expects...

That's why I left my last band - it stopped being fun.

Right now, even rehearsals are fun - but a lot of work, too. I just hope we can start gigging within a couple of months.

Great pictures.

I make funny faces when I play . . . I did the same thing doing Kung Fu so I guess it's just my war face coming through.
