this is just on my profile (S#!+HouseBlues), but I'd like to get some feedback please. The main vocal is not what I wanted at all - I was trying to make it sound like it was comeing from a 'small room' - you'll understand when you hear the song. Not sure if it comes across that way. I think the backup vocals came out nice... bout the best I could do. The drums def need to be redone with some real drums... perhaps some brushes... I may post it over on musicianscollaboration, when I get around to it. But that's my take on it... what's yours?

Have heard a lot worse, I dont usually listen to much bluesey stuff but your lyrics were very unexpected and entertaining lol .Agree with you about drums, live drums are always better but not always easy to find eh. a good fun track, vocals were quite ok in my opinion, guitar was nice and tight. A totaly non pretentious piece of work lol, keep it up.

thanks mcawber. appreciate your fb. Yeah I'm not giving any bob dylans or tom waitts any competition on lyrics, but they have garnered me a small following among family and friends. It's hillarious to hear your sister allow your 10 year old nephew to request a song with that title, but then I am a master of juvenile humor. Thinking about potentially adding in fart sounds - what do you think?(hehe).

just listened to your stuff mcawber. excerpt 2. I see you are a big pink floyd fan. is that a dm5 on the acoustic gtr part? Very nice. You should post it over on collab and have someone do that acoustic gtr part for ya live. That would really sound nice in there. That would be my only suggestion for improvement. Very themactic. Really does a 180 on the ending. Personally I don't care for that part as much as I do the main content of the song. IMO it kinda cheapens it. Overall a nice piece.

:D

Hey I like this tune!! Good stuff Mike! You should post this over on MC.. I dunno if it's my computer speakers or what, but I couldn't hear the vocals at all...except when you were accenting a word and you got louder, which I thought that was kewl (the accenting) and then I really wanted to hear the rest of what you were singing!! :x

 Boys will be boys!! :D ...... but no farting sounds plz!

no farting sounds... lol.
perhaps a toilet flushing at the end then?
I can't help it. I'll never get over bathroom humor.
Thanks for the feedback. I will def post it over there(collab) sooner or later. AFA the main voc, I did a studio nono and put a very small room reverb on it... then I dropped off all the highs... kinda makes it muddled... and wasn't exactly what I was looking for...
next time I'll actually go out to that sh!+house and set a mic outside the door... but I'm not sure my breathing will work so well in there.
There i go again... it just comes so naturally.
andywho, thanks again for the listening and your kind review!

Liked your recording. :)
I didn't know there was a fan-base for this kind of song, here.
.
I've got a song which you and the other folks here shouldl like.
It's called "Rufus the Dufus."
I wrote the Lyrics along w/Juliette Duboise, aka Julie Jazz, who sings. It started as a joke, then I thought, "Aw, what the heck - let's turn it into a real song."
It's a humerous song, about that one guy in every lounge/bar who's a pain in the a** to every woman who arrives. And - all the regulars think he's pathetic jerk. :)
I wrote the music & play guitar & bass. JJ sings; and me & my wife did the bar-room backround comments.
I held off posting this, because it wasn’t up to my usual standards, but, regardless, everyone who has heard it has laughed . . .
I had some big timing problems with the software, but (hopefully) most people may not notice.
Lyrics are key - and crank the volume to hear the comments of the crowd.
I was going for a simplistic, folksy-sounding guitar, paired with a more sophisticated bass.
So - I know the guitar is nothing to brag about, and there’s a spot or two where the timing ‘stalls,’ but - give it a listen. I promise you’ll be glad you heard it, - or your money back! :)
I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this song.
And - definitely listen to this song if you need cheering up. :)
.
Glad to see people posting music here . . .

heard your song samick... and was dissapointed there was no bathroom humor. -that's just me. You should add some farts to it! I was going to to mine... but ladyrocker kinda talked me down. The bass is pretty nice. Twas your buddy? no? Nice.
Quit trying to steal my limelight... it's all I have!

thank yo uso very much for listening! even if you offered negative comments it would mean a lot to me. what would you change about it? I realize it's more of a silly song, but the gtr is serious. I have the song on collab right now looking for harmonica solos.
I'm looking for drums for a tune called headbanger revised. Please consider going over there and throwing down. www.musicianscollaboration.com
thanks agian for taking the time bro... let me know if I can ever repay!

I listened to the song and I love the music more than the lyrics. Pretty funny lyrics, don't get me wrong, but I really like blues and I just love what you did musically. There's a whole mess of those type of songs, referring to the lyrics on limewire or itunes, and they are hysterical! But all kidding aside, great playing!

thanks james... I'm a mediocre singer, I know exactly how good I am and am not... but this song isn't a great example of my singing... I was just going for a kinda silly rendition... and trying to make it sound like I was in a sh!+house with the verb. "Your voice is almost like Johnny Cash meets Elvis Presley." -I wish, but thanks for the compliment.
thanks for the listen and fb. I appreciate it very much.

thanks tessa. really means a lot to me. I know, lyrics aren't very serious, but I have other serious songs. This one was just for fun. I'm not expecting any major labels to knock on my door for it! It does demonstrate a little slide ability tho. I think the gtr tone is right on... pretty good for $125 guitar! It was a dano u2 -only a dobro would've been better!
