On May 17, 2012, Summer died at her home in Florida after a long battle with breast cancer

Perhaps a lot of peeps don't care. I thought she had a great voice.

She was definitely top of her game... I personally did not like 70's disco music..but her voice and style were highly respectable and were etched in my own perspectives and experiences of the 70s. During many good times that I had in the 70's, there were many a times, a Donna Summers Song was playing on the radio... She definitely defined and made her music part of the 70's culture. R.I.P. Donna.

Summer, not Summers.

I have a recording of my band from 1984 doing "She Works Hard For The Money", maybe I'll post it later.

As you were warned, my band from 1984 Miss de Meanor covering "She Works Hard For The Money" is on my player. Recorded live in my garage 28 years ago! Probably the worst one that we recorded, especially the shady guitar solos and horrible synth sounds lol.

I can't help but be sad. Because of every memory of singing with my records to MacArthur Park, On the Radio, The Wanderer and when you, me and Babs sang "No More Tears"...I loved every moment singing with you and hearing you sing to me, goodbye Donna Summmer.

Tammy

WHAM I could hear that one hit W. Houston in the ribs and then she rolled over in her casket.

Now the news is she had lung cancer. Not from smoking but from her apartment near ground zero.
That may be a bit of a stretch but if there is even a tiny bit of truth to that, then the evil of bin laden is worse than anyone could have seen.

What a great lady.

I met her at a congregation in Bowling Green Kentucky. I think it was 2004?

She was with a friend of mine from YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and I recognized her face but didn't realize who she was.

I asked her name and it was Donna (something Italian), which was her married name. She had put on a few pounds and looked quite a bit different than her 70s photos.

I kept saying, "you look familiar" and she kept saying, "I get that a lot"

After she left someone told me who she was....no longer a "Bad Girl"
