New track posted. I recorded at home. Bass, drums, Cigar box guitar, 12 vocal parts. Tear it apart. I already know what I'm not happy with. Are we ever satisfied?

First song on my player "the situation"

Interesting song Paul.

Technically its good, lively, energetic, good vocals structure, good lyrics...

I think that thematically, it begs for a circa 1920's "Putting on the Ritz", neo-flapper ambience to it (That's just me tho) . Its a fun, dynamic song and I got a lot of visuals of slap-stick theatric in there when I hear this... :) Could have a lot of fun with it.

pretty straight ahead, everything in it's place.
I'm not qualified to judge this style. early to mid 60's it sounds to me if you ignore the tech.

the sound is very thin, very digital.
that's about the only criticism i could offer.

Wow! I get older music comparisons from time to time. Usually I can see it. Man I can't see this one at all. That's not a complaint. I just don't get it.

Fact, that's my biggest problem with it.
thank you!

Like the musical feel theme? Or the lyrical theme?
thanks!

Is that the goal?

Lol, no, accident. Can I get you to listen to the next song on my player "I think I love you" for a production/mix opinion?
thanks!

Your mixes are always fresh, bold and very different from song to song. "The Situation" is my most favorite song and least favorite mix of the three. "I Think I Love You" is the easiest mix to listen to and absorb the music for these ears. I like it.

i guess what occurred to me at first listen, was 65' surf music
traditional rock as electrics were just taking over, traditional rock as in rock that was still recorded for dancing.

A bit of DEVO, a bit of Dick Dale... I can see that:

I'm probably not the one to critique ... sounds damn thin to me Paul.

Probably the mix ...
