You're probably not going to share my opinion, but I think it sucks. I hate stereotypes. Sheldon does the same for nerds that Al Bundy did for stupid middle class white men - makes them cartoons, easily categorized for mass consumption. I'm a nerd, I'm a computer programmer by day, I listen to classical music, I watch science shows, I collect fossils and do a bunch of other nerdy things. But I also rock the hell out of a guitar; people who know me from one side are usually shocked to learn my other side. But that's what real people are, multi-dimensional and not easy to classify. But if it makes you laugh that's cool.

I love it. I can relate to these brainiacs with no common sense. In this way it is realistic with Chuck Lorre's touch of humor. And how about Penny?!

Jimmy, something I admire about you is that you are comfortable in your own skin! In other words you KNOW YOU! I think as human beings we experience life and either we except ourselve's and other folk's for who they are or, we don't! I too am a NERD! Redneck yes but a nerd none the less!

There is NOTHING wrong with being a nerd! After all they made movie's about NERDS! We all laughed not at them BUT WITH THEM! As a HUMAN the COOLEST people I have known ARE NERDS!

Jimmy, what is WRONG with STEREO TYPES?

IMO all stereo type's are is other folks passing judgement! Personally I could care less what other folks think of me! I know what I am about! I make mistakes just like 110% of other people!
At work I have a self imposed handle "mullet man"
I have imposed this name upon myself because there are a lot of guy's my age named Jeff and it seperate's "your's truly" from the 100,000 other Jeff's at work!

At first I thought it was stupid... But then I began to see the brilliance in the show.
I actually know professors and scientists (have worked with some) who are brainiacs like these guys, except without the style of irony and punchline,,,In fact they could stand to get a pulse...

I think this show just pokes the ever living sh*t out of all the Ivory tower inhabitants and all the science minded folks who take themselves too seriously and who cant laugh at themsleves... Its a brilliant show!

I only watched it once. I thought it was a bit interesting but I couldn't put up with the laugh track. I won't watch comedies that tell me that someone just breathing is funny.

If they know the people watching it will laugh when they hear a recording of laughter, then why bother in the first place.

I remember seeing "Friends" re runs. If someone walked into the room the audience would laugh. If there was a knock on the door.. or about any movement whatsoever, the laugh track guy had to fill the void with the laugh track. Count how many times the audience cracks up sometimes in a 10 minute period on those shows.

I guess it's funny. Oops. That made me laugh.

Jeff, the reason I don't like stereotypes is because when you a have preconceived idea of someone it prevents you from getting to know that person. I'm as guilty of it as anyone; but I try to recognize when I do it.

Now if Sheldon also played in a punk rock band I would probably watch the show lol.

Long lives nerds!

Can you spot the actor who played Rusty on Christmas Vacation? I think these actors (and actresses), are incredibly intelligent and devoted to their art to be able to remember the lines they deliver without stammer or hesitation. They explain things most of which they couldn't possibly understand themselves as though they truly know what they are talking about. Ever sang the song "Down In The Valley" and never been their? It may be easy to put ourselves in the writer of that song's mind's eye because we have all seen a valley somewhere.

Yeah but forever afterwards when the guy goes to buy a Popsicle, people will recognize him as "SHELDON".

That's like everyone in the world you never met all calling you "Erkle". LOL

I need like 10 million so I never have to show my face again to that type of BS.

Fred Gwynn gave-up the Munster role and ruined his career.

Charlie Sheen gave up his role as a womanizer and lost a 1.8 million
dollar an episode gig.

Ive only seen that show a couple of times, it just didnt hold my interest, not that its good or bad, it must be good cause its still on, so somebody is watching it.

This year I like Harrys Law and Person Of Interest, I also watch Dancing With The Stars, my lady and I love to dance, and I watch American Idol, I keep waiting for a guy that looks like Chris Cornell or Robert Plant to get on there and just blow them away! LOL
