I have arguments with people over which famous song is the worst in your opinion. For me it's You Are Wonderful Tonight by Clapton.. and of all people to put out such a piece of garbage...

Your playing at the bar and you want to fill the dance floor,

I think "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" by Yes is atrocious.

You mean like rap?? Or country??? I thought country was bad until a friend brought over the first Beastie Boys album. Never expected rap to be around 20 years later and it's only gotten worse...

As for the worst song, I don't know. Every time I think I've heard it, another one comes along. I thought "The Bird" was it, then along came everything the Rolling Stones ever did...OK that's not quite fair, actually the Stones came first. But from their first Ed Sullivan Show appearance, I couldn't stand them, especially Mick Jagger. And don't get me started on Keith Richards' fumbling around with a guitar...

Others I was sure were the bottom of the barrel...

I thoroughly agree with George about Achy Breaky Heart. Absolutely abominable.

David Bowie's remake of "Cat People" - with SRV on guitar. The original was great, it's an old favorite. The remake was bland, and Vaughn just made it suck out loud.

"Middle of the Road" - was that the Pretenders?? Can't remember. Wish it had gotten run over...and left there...

LaBamba - Yukk....just plain Yukkk...

Pride and Joy - For 6 months I heard everyone raving about Vaughn but didn't think I had ever heard him. I had been turning the radio off 5 seconds after anything on the Texas Flood album came on, no idea who it was but knew they sucked...then one day the dj announced the song and artist before playing it and I thought hey great, I get to finally hear this guy everyone's nutz about...5 seconds later the radio was off again.

Don't think I know the name of it, the Police - Doo doo doo means dah dah dah...etc...did he have his 2 year old son write that POS???

I could go on for ages but can't think them up right away.

Not to mention songs I liked at first but radio stations playing them 43 times a day made me sick of hearing them in no time...Stairway, Sweet Home Alabama, Free Bird, Fool for the City, that's a long long list...hey how bout that, those are the same ones we all got sick of playing onstage long ago...hmmmm....

They had a song called photograph first. Equally as bad.

So Pete, what do you like?

I am finally old I didn't know any of those songs. I had kept up with all the new songs in pop rock and country up until the past year or so.

So I was curious and am youtubing these songs.

Bruno Mars - grenade is actually a really good song. Starts strong with piano. it has good dynamics and it doesn't sound totally canned or artificial. It sounds organic. The singer can actually sing really well. I can tell when a singer doesn't need autotune. He is a true singer. Check the "bullet straight through my brain" line. It is emotionally charged adn shows great vocal talent IMO. I'm not surprised. Good music comes from EVERY generation.

Here is the Bruno Mars song.

I will be youtubing the rest.

I didn't know Brittany still had a career. especially since she has like a one octave range and a very mediocre voice overall. But there she is on that list.

Apparently all it requires is a well used warm wet spot and some financial backing.
