He's been ranting all over the radio and TV telling people he is going to do something to relieve the "pain at the pump". Then he said he was going to cut the 4 billion in subsidies to big oil, .......so the price at the pump will decrease? Can you find any logic in that at all without a concussion?
OK. Let me ponder this one. Cut 4 Billion and then you can give it to GE, who gives your party all the big bucks. Shucks, Big oil wouldn't miss 4 Bill.
Wait a minute, they might. But they could always make it up at the pump.
And the gov will get more tax money from us so they can give their pet companies like GE more of our money, and get even more reelection funds for the coffers.
So we pay the 4 Bill tax money that gov took from big oil, who has to raise the pump prices to make up for the revenue loss, which means more fuel tax from us for gov to subsidize G E. with even more tax dollars.
I got it, I think.
Dam!! I think I'll go out and buy something really nice with the money I just saved on fuel.

I appreciate the info. Seems that every day you find out more about his objectives much to our objections. No matter. His "change"-s have not been good for Americans ,but for special interest groups. Cash for clunkers was a failure because people sold their cars to be doomed for scrap then ran out and bought Japanese made cars. Japanese did a similar program BUT, they insisted their re-buys were Japanese built. That being said, a little Known fact to throw at you is that the emblem on the Mitsubishi is derived from the propellers of the WWII Zero, which it's design was stolen from the American Fighter. Please don't ask me which model. It's late.
Heres the first lie: these are not subsidies they are actual tax credits instead of tax write offs. We do not subsidize big oil, They are allowed to write off the expenses against profits. The way the tax code is written SCREWWS UP everything. Shell drills 3 wells and only one produces, They are given a tax credit.
Second: Why the hell did we give Brazil 2 billion dollars to develop deep water drilling through a company called Petro brasil. Take a wild guess who owns much of that company. [AL GORE]. Great now they can sell us oil that we developed with American tax payer dollars.
Third: Because the EPA, Dept of the interior, and a whole host of regulatory agencies have slowed permitting to the point that US oil production is down FOURTEEN PERCENT.
Fourth: OIL WORLDWIDE is based on the US DOLLAR. You can not buy a barrel from the SAUDIES unless you first convert your peso into dollars. However our Treasury has printed another 600 BILLION dollars cash,[and thats as good as a check]. In the last 2 months your dollar went from being worth @80 against other currencies to about 72 .
600 billion, congress is fighting over 35 billion.
Subsidies, you want to talk subsidies, how about farmers getting paid to not grow crops, or grow corn for ethanol. Great not only will we be sitting in the dark but food prices are already skyrocketing.
Big oil is not getting subsidized they are being demonized.

Exactly, Glen, and if the Brazilies have an oops with their oil well, it will f**k up their territory, not ours. I'm so over using fossil fuels for gas. I'm still for hydrogen which everyone keeps saying would take too much money to produce. How is it the Norweigans have a hydrogen producing pump using water? Maybe I'm not correct, but it's worth exploring.
Obama's gonna do whichever big oil company drops a quarter in his campaign fund for next year; meanwhile, we'll just get the lip service.
Meanwhile, we'll be paying $5 a gallon by summer. My truck died last week so I'm down to my car and maybe borrowing someone's truck when I have a faire. I can pay for the gas using my savings from the insurance payment I'm losing.

I've suspected the same thing for a while now, Jimmy. J hasn't been the guy he used to be on this forum. He used to always be polite with well thought out posts. I know when I got drunk a couple times about a year ago I acted like an ass.
Why pick on Chaeya though? She's never attacked anybody here.

Every time we buy a product and that money is reported as income, there is taxes galore on that income. People who report income, pay taxes up the ying-yang on that income. I know, I have been self-employed for 20 years. And on top of that there's property taxes, local taxes, state sales tax, cigarette tax, gas tax, FICA tax (your employer matches your FICA withholding), there's WAY MORE THAN DOUBLE TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. Where the hell is ALL that money going? How can states and the federal government possibly be showing a deficit when there's so much tax compounded upon tax. IT'S MIND-BOGGLING.

Bob,
You left out one of the biggest taxes, a hidden one at that. The Fed printed trillions to loan to foreign banks and to pay for public sector union retirement funds.
If there are only two dollars, and you have one in your bank and one in your pocket, and the fed prints two dollars, yours are worth only fifty cents each. And that is what they have been doing. THAT is a great deal of why gas prices and food prices are so high.
Nice con game. And they say Bernie is the greatest con man. He looks like a piker compared to Greenspan or Bernanke. They have been taxing us for years without anyone saying a thing about it. Not even bothering with a few billion, but rather scamming us with trillions. And where does that interest go that is paid on the phony money that they are printing? To the privately owned Fed. Some are getting very wealthy on this "hidden tax".

Hydrogen is an energy medium, not a source. They still use fossil fuels to make and process the hydrogen fuel. Just another scam from big oil.
Electricity can at least be generated by solar, wind, or hydro power.
