Hey how about "the golden cut"? (too close and not lined up)

Who took those pics?

Tell them to back off to F7 and line it up, that way everything from you behind will be in focus and no more close ups, unless that's what you were going for.

My 15 year old nephew took the pics. With a simple samsung point and shoot. What's F7? I just went through the pics he took and picked the ones I thought were tasty.

They are just a little too close.. (check rule of thirds)

F7 is an exposure.. Check google, if you stand far enough back and use F7, focus on the very first image you want in focus and take the pic, everything else will be in focus behind the first image..

Otherwise, just tell him to stand back and lay off that telephoto lens.

(You have good skin and we don't want to notice if you didn't) lol

Thanks for the heads up capt. I'm about as likely to follow the rules of photography as I am to follow the rules of music.

Sounding good and looking good are not in the same pickle barrel.

You actually have to go up to the grill to get a decent photo and ask for "no mustard".

That's right I forgot when I was on tour and saw you I had hair! I like change. I had a dream night before last that I had grown it out and was giving myself my first hair cut of "the cycle".

Cool pics

I wouldn't worry too much about the F stops, unless you want to intentionally get a specific effect from the picture. I use that aspect of photography now and then, but not often. some digital cameras, like my Samsung, do have modes that allow you to set the F stop and exposure time. Mine also lets me use ISO levels from 100 up to at least 800, I usually stick with 100 and 200. Anything over 400 iso starts to get grainy, which is why I always tried to use 100 or 200 with my 35mm cameras. 100 is smooth enough to get a really nice 8x10 enlargement. 400 will work, but you will notice the difference at that size. As far as F stops go, the smaller the F stop (aperture), the longer the focal range. (depth of field.) F stops are strange, the smaller number is a larger aperture.

Here is a much better explanation than I can offer concerning depth of field.

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/fo ... depth.html

My main objectives are good clear focus and decent lighting/exposure. I also try to catch interesting "poses" although I go for very few actually posed shots, I much prefer candid.

Is that a Peavey T-60 I see? Those are nice guitars, I've looked at dozens and passed them up because either they didn't play well enough or sounded funky. Years ago before I knew how to do my own setups, I probably passed a few that could have been made very playable, because I didn't know you could change the string height, much less how to do it...I have a Peavey Patriot now, the next incarnation of the T-60 it seems to me, same pickups, slightly different body style and it plays fantastic, sounds great too. Almost every band I've played with said it was the best sounding guitar I have. I got one of those pickups a while back and put it in the neck position of a tele copy that had a crummy pickup there but a great bridge pickup, it did wonders for the guitar and sounds every bit as good as the ones in my Patriot.

Damn...a picture of JW not hamming it up like a rock and roller...I think that's a first... :D

Hmm, these are nice pics...I like the one with the water bottle. You know, if you ever wear anything besides overalls we would not recognize you, man. I am sure that you will eventually come out to Cali. I will be watching.

Pete that is a t-60 I love it! It was donated to the cause like my band van!
Mary, the overalls, the heelys, my changin facial and head hair, playing in a ranchero, playing a 3 piece stand up drum kit, fretless bass, funky socks are all bizarro elements of the neanderpaul one man show! I just am trying hard to have my own thing! :D

I think the last pic with you and JW is the most marketable look for you.
