Watch the end of this George Harrison tribute.

Also on that note I was watching part of the 25th anniversary Rock n Roll hall of fame stuff over at a friends, and Simon and Garfunkel just killed me.
I literally went home and threw my guitar from its stand 'towards' the case that was open on the floor, and went to bed.
Not because the guitar playing was so out of this world, but the music was - I went through the 'I friking quit, why bother' blues for awhile.

Impressive solo for sure.
All but the part here the sagehand runs up to "catch" him by the shoulders as he leans back.
Oh my! Way too "staged" to the point of being a cheese dicked trick . :?

Without watching the video, I just wanted to comment that prince is/was a pop legend simply because of his songwriting, ability with guitar, and his showmanship - he knew that just being good wasn't entertaining enough in a 'material world' - Can't blame the guy for attacking pop music from all angles.

Prince is bad, if you know what I mean. He not only plays well but he looks good doin' it. . Prince has a since of melodic line when he solos. That shows that he is listening to everyone around him and he inspires these musicians. Can't you see it. Not long ago, I saw him interviewed and he commented that many of the, so called, bands that are popular today lack musicianship because they don't play their own instruments anymore. He really enjoys hanging out and sharing with musicians and should be alowed to get into his own zone. JMHO, I think that he plays with the strength of Eric Clapton, the soul of James Brown and the class of Prince. We should all aspire to be, not like him, but to be outstanding as who we are. Watching him makes me want to be a better flutist with the kind of abandon. It has just been within the past 5 years or so that I come to think of Prince as being "da bomb".

I really enjoyed that myself. You got to admit that Prince was getting off with all that good playing going on around him. I'd give my left leg to be jamming with some of those guys.

And its another day in Paradise !!!

Dont diss on Prince until youve been to one of his concerts.

I went and was blown away. The whole deal looks, sound, variety of genres he covers and then of course he can play the hell out of a guitar. I think he can shred with the best in my opinion.

The other thing about him is the amount of material he has produced in his career. He probably couldnt play all his hits in one show. He was one of the first major artist to break off and get his own material out to the market in a big way.

I edited this cause it was funny that my 1999th post was about Prince, how weird is that.

We gonna party like its 1999!

The guy is great. He is one of those who defines what it is to be an entertainer and oh yes, he can play....

Wow, that was killer!

The leaning off the stage was a bit over the top, but isn't over the top a reason why we are into music stars?

Cool exit too.

I can't help but like this.

Always admired Prince. Heard he can play 13 different instruments.

Solo was interesting; playful, fun, energetic.

I will always like Jeff Healey's version the best. No not me, the blind guy. God rest his soul.
