At least it didn't land on your car like mine did last Feb.

There's always a bright side, right?

LOL, I have a canoe already thanks.
Yea Phil, I though of you when I saw that oak in my parking spot.
No damage done though, broke out a new chain I bought last season and cut her up, then felled and cut up another for my dad.
I'll be sore tomorrow, thats more work than I've done in six months.

Trees down here too, a couple of big guys..Ground is so soft a good wind just blows them over. And rain all day today, my yard was a river. Left driver side window open about a half inch last night and didn't know it, been driving in a wet seat today. Lotsa fun...

I've seen trees over 2 feet in diameter down in several places, roads flooded a couple of times, Ouachita River not far from here is inches from flood stage, not more than 3 feet below the bridge in Monroe.

It's not looking good, much more rain and we'll have some serious flooding here. George, my mother is not too far away, she's getting loads of rain too but she hasn't said anything about trees down, I know they got all the same rain you did though.

I'm hoping it slacks up soon, more rain this monsoon season than usual, but it looks like the next few days should be clear. At least that's what the weather page says.

A good friend in Lufkin when I lived there was state fire marshall. After a tornado went ballistic all over the area he said one of his guys pulled into a man's yard to check and see if everyone was OK and the homeowner was standing there shaking his head. Two 1966 or 67 Mustangs, fully restored, sitting in the yard...with a huge oak tree on top of both. Both cars destroyed, worth around $30,000-50,000 each.

We got lucky, it missed our place by several miles, but the one before it didn't. Not much damage, but several trees down. I was taking a nap and woke up to the sound of a train running through the room...definitely not good...didn't realize it was a tornado until it had gone away, which took less than a minute. Then I realized where I'd heard that sound before...a few yards from a tornado...fortunately none of those this time, rain would be the least of your worries. It took them 3 days to cut their way down our road the last time one hit in Huntington where my mother lives. Glad I had a Coleman lantern...
